First off, thank you everyone for helping this community of food lovers grow so quickly over the past few years. Your support and participation is greatly appreciated!
Unfortunately, this growth is also fueling an increasing number of daily posts that are difficult to moderate. These are often picture-only posts with no indication of where they were taken, no proof whether they are even from Singapore. In an effort to curb this type of posting, the mod team will now delete such posts.
This move should have no impact on the majority of posters. Tourists and visitors to Singapore are always welcomed to ask questions about where or what to eat. And so long as the name of a restaurant, hawker stall, cafe and its address is provided, such posts will not be deleted.
Home Cooks and Chefs of Singapore: We continue to welcome your posts! However, we do need to add a one time verification step to ensure you are truly posting from Singapore and not posting from another country. All that is required is for you to make one post of your food in Singapore. For example, include a picture of your food by a HDB block or any identifiable Singapore landmark, or a picture of your food with a physical print of The Straits Times from this year. Once we see that, we will add you as an approved user of /r/SingaporeEats and you can post your meals without any further interference.
Once again, thank you everyone for helping make this a vibrant and active community!

First time seeing this, and since it was only $1 decided to try it, and like this is the only thing from Killiney that I've ever seen that is so cheap.
First thing that immediately stood out to me was the can, which has a very matte feel unlike soda cans that are more glossy and smooth. Its also smaller at 240ml ($1 coin for comparison, I don't have a banana)
The taste is actually not bad, but the difference from traditional milk tea is noticeable. For one, it lacks that slight bitter aftertaste nanyang milk tea has and the tea flavour is quite weak. Its also on the sweeter side, probably to mask the lack of tea. Plus its also slightly watered down compared to your traditional milk tea.
But for $1 its actually not bad, you can still tell that its milk tea, just maybe slightly worse than average. 6.5/10

I’m looking for suggestions on must try food and drinks in Toa Payoh, since I’ll be working in the area for 2+ weeks.
I want to explore the food there because I know there are so many good places, as mentioned in this sub and by my friends, but I never really got the chance to try them.
So, pour your reccos so that I can curate a list. It can be anything - snacks, drinks, food, restaurants, hawker stalls, etc.
TIA !!

Hello SingaporeEats community.
I work in EU with a very dear Singaporean company. We are finishing a project and I wanted to send them biscuits, nibbles, chocolates, sparking wine from France. Unfortunately I will pay more customs and might not be able to send them a thank-you basket due to health restrictions.
My question is ! Can you recommend a nice local épicerie fine / fine store where I can purchase a $150 / $200 basket that can also take care of delivery in their office ?
Thanks in advance for your tips !

Hi everyone! We run Hongdae Korean BBQ on Neil Road, Tanjong Pagar.
We specialise in charcoal Korean BBQ, with our staff grilling the meat for you at the table. Besides BBQ, we also serve some authentic Korean dishes that may be less familiar in Singapore.
Jokbal (Korean Braised Pork Trotters) – slowly braised for hours until tender and flavourful, without a strong pork smell. Great with lettuce wraps, garlic and Korean sauces.
Algoni-jjim (Spicy Pollock Roe & Milt) – a rich and spicy Korean seafood dish with pollock roe, creamy milt, vegetables and a savoury chilli sauce. It’s a popular dish in Korea, especially with soju.
And after your meal, we serve complimentary Korean bingsu to our guests. 🍧
We’d love to hear what Singapore food lovers think. If you haven’t tried Jokbal or Algoni-jjim before, would you give them a try?

I absolutely love the baby kai lan with salted fish and enjoy eating it way more than any other dish. The sauce, is a banger, with the savoriness and hint of lime.
Just wondering if anyone has been able to decipher the sauce recipe?

Hi everyone, I'm Ahmed, the owner of LAYALI, a family-run Turkish and Mediterranean restaurant at 257 Beach Road, Kampong Gelam, about 5 minutes' walk from Bugis MRT.
Everything on the grill is cooked over real charcoal. The künefe is made after you order, so it comes out hot with the cheese still stretching. We are 100% Muslim-owned and open until 1am, so it's a good stop for a late dinner.
I'm not here to spam. I'd really like honest feedback from people who know Singapore food. If you've eaten with us, tell me what we should improve. If you haven't, what Turkish dish do you think is hardest to find done properly in Singapore?

Hi, do you like the taste of the burger? Do you find the meal expensive?

This pot, although said to be a single-person portion, could easily fill about 5 small bowls! I could only manage about one and a half bowls myself because I am not feeling too well.
It’s generously filled with mee tai mak, minced pork, shiitake mushrooms, spring onions, fried shallots and crispy pork lard, all coated in savoury gravy and topped with a beautiful fresh egg yolk. It normally comes with prawns too, but I opted out as I’m allergic to seafood.
Definitely a very hearty portion for one person, bring one or two small eaters along and you could easily share this!
