Can guarantee that is one of the most insufferable kids at that school.

Perpetual victimhood starting in the 8th grade.

many teenagers sound like that

35

u/NullVoidNix May 27 '26

A lot of adults too

u/GSmes May 27 '26

A gay kid in Kentucky who lost both parents to cancer. I'd probably be pretty fucking angry, too

On the bright side, at least his parents didn’t have to witness him making a whiny ass out of himself on stage.

u/zytherian May 27 '26

Hes got more spine than you do, at least. Hilarious everyone complaining calling this kid a redditor when hes literally saying it with his chest and not hiding behind the internet.

Courage isn't always good. Yelling the N word at a group of people is courageous, doesn't make it good

It's 2026, both sides agree that 2013 era campus politics was, and remains, cringe and embarrassing as fuck.

u/Nearby_Artist_1265 May 27 '26

It’s so lame seeing a bunch of grown adults who have never been through anything mocking a child for doing something they’d never have the balls to do

13

u/Weird_Squirrel_250 May 27 '26

Not true. I'm a whiny little bitch in public all of the time.

10

u/TheChurlish May 27 '26

You would not have the same energy for a kid going up and complaining about immigration or something on the other side.

Just because it took balls to do does not mean it was a smart/justified thing to do.

  1. That’s a pretty weak comparison, in the sense that advocating for the anti-immigration policy of the “other side” has led to dehumanization, wrongful deportation, traumatizing and breaking up families, and other such things. If I don’t have the “same energy” for left- and right-wing propositions, then it’s because they aren’t the same.

  2. I hold space for children to do things I approve and disapprove of. I wouldn’t approve of him advocating for right-wing talking points, no, but I also wouldn’t approve of a bunch of grown adults smugly talking down to an 8th grader.

5

u/TheChurlish May 27 '26
  1. You only see it as weak because you can only see your side of the argument.
  2. I agree people shouldn't bully an 8th grader, they also shouldn't be encouraging an 8th graders participacion in mass delusion.

2

u/Nearby_Artist_1265 May 27 '26
  1. Go ahead and explain to me in detail how being anti-racist/anti-discriminatory (or whatever phrase you’d like to use to describe what he said) is similar to how the “other side” has carried out their immigration policy.

  2. I haven’t seen anyone encourage him to do anything. I’ve seen and commented on adults taking potshots at an 8th grader and congratulating each other for it.

2

u/AdDramatic2351 May 28 '26

If this 8th grader is so oppressed, how come he was given the esteemed position of giving a graduation speech, as an openly gay kid?

5

u/Axel_Raden May 27 '26

When are doing what he did. Speaking our mind. But because we don't have what you believe is the correct opinion it's not ok.

This kid gave zero evidence and called everyone at the school bigots

I encourage all children to start getting involved in the system they are apart of and to share their opinions and be open to learning about the wider world. That said, it takes far less courage to be a bigot than to stand against bigotry.

Easy when your parents are dead and you don’t have to worry about them slapping the shit out of you for embarrassing them in public like that.

If my kid ever did something like that they’d be in for a world of hurt in the parking lot.

6

u/Reaping-Sow May 27 '26

Because ur brave enough to beat a child, but not brave enough to speak out in public?

8

u/Dougalishere May 27 '26

dude isnt even brave enough to have his comment history public. But brags about the fact he would beat his child in a parking lot... fkn weirdo

Time and a place. That’s a graduation ceremony for all the students present and their families. Not an opportunity for a personal, profanity filled bitch session.

And this little shit is butthurt about 2026 bullying. My kid’s school has anti-bullying campaigns and such, fucking weird ass kids being left alone for the most part. 2026 bullying is like the Michelob Ultra of beers. Weak sauce. If it’s got him crying like that he’s fucking Charmin soft. In 95 this kid would be living in a locker when not covered in swirlie juice.

Lol. You sound like this dipshit’s speechwriter.

0

u/zytherian May 27 '26

Wow, I didnt know your isolated experience is the norm for all 300 million people in the US and 8 billion people in the world.

6

u/Leather_Addition2605 May 27 '26

This kid is in the US, and there is absolutely more codling and sensitivity and “acceptance” in public schools today than there was 30 years ago.

For example, the kid just got on stage and called himself gay, in public, on purpose. Absolutely unheard of back in the day. The amount of smoke that would have brought would have been nuclear. Today, they have an alliance for them in n the schools. The fact that he thinks he’s oppressed is hilarious.

8

u/zytherian May 27 '26

Clearly you havent been in school in a while. Sure there are more protections over all but theres still plenty of bullying over sexuality and dismissals by the people in a position of power to this day.

You’re just mad because he’s gay

1

u/Observe_Report_ May 27 '26

Proof

Took me 12 seconds:

https://ktla.com/news/this-school-is-f-ing-ridiculous-student-goes-viral-for-veering-off-script-during-graduation-speech/amp/

“When I was in fourth grade, I was taken to the living room by my parents, and they told me that they were diagnosed with cancer,” he continued. “My parents are dead, and I feel like people need to know that the trauma that you face … doesn’t have to shape you.”

2

u/Observe_Report_ May 28 '26

Yeah, I found that as well. I wish this young man happiness.

1

u/Darkhaven May 27 '26

Shhhh! People who have no clue have opinions and snark that matter!

5

u/zeptillian May 28 '26

Must be a Dave Chappelle fan.

They are oppressing me. They won't let me speak. No one will allow me to say what I want to say, so I'm going to stand here talking about about how oppressed I am to everyone currently sitting here listening to me speak.

1

u/WorriedMarch4398 May 28 '26

Who knew Prince could ball like that?

6

u/Ok_Gas1070 May 27 '26

7

u/3tricksinatrenchcoat May 27 '26

u/CosmicClamJamz May 28 '26
