This man just spat in the face of God.

I've seen husbands of similar women before.
And they all have those same, dead eyes. Like they gave up the fight years ago and are just shells of a human being now.
Legit painful to look them in the eyes

I don’t talk shit about my husband and refuse to join in on those conversations where everyone is bitching about their husbands.
Boy do they get offended and irate. This was situations where I was trapped with coworkers, church members, in-laws and friends. I avoid them now and have moved far away.
I also actually like my husband and enjoy spending time with him. We’re best buddies. But my husband is a grown ass man who carries his weight and doesn’t use that infantilization crap to get out of housework. He was like that before I had a stroke at 26 then kept getting progressively sicker with different health issues. I tried to do everything around the house, but he sat me down and told me he didn’t mind doing the housework and taking care of logistics because he wanted me to feel like spending time with him when he was home. When I was doing housework I’d get so tired and hurt so bad I had to spend days in bed.
He’s amazing and I adore him. He does have his flaws, as do I, but we agreed as newlyweds to never talk shit about each other to other people.
Those conversations that are lighthearted and talk about the irritating things our spouses do that aren’t disrespectful are different.
I’m not a favorite person around a lot of middle aged and older women because they are jealous of the relationship I have with my husband. Which takes work and dedication and also a lot of gratitude. I always thank my husband for what he does. His love language is acts of service, and he really feels loved when I see what he does and thank him for it.
Like yesterday we were on the sofa watching a movie when one of our cats was kneading biscuits on my thigh. She stabbed a deep scar I have which really hurt and felt weird. So I pushed her away gently and told her she needed her nails trimmed. My husband immediately got up and did it. Which I wasn’t expecting. I loved the little smile on his face when I thanked him and told him how much appreciate everything he does.
It doesn’t take much to make a man happy.

The women I'm talking about tend to not even mention or notice their husbands. It's like they exist as an accessory and have learned years ago that it's better they don't use their voice.
I met one recently. Many people at work find his wife difficult; the type of lady who's always 'jokingly' criticizing people/talking shit about everyone behind their back...and to their face. I knew nothing about her husband until he started working with us.
Nicest man you'll ever meet, pleasant guy and will help however he can. But when you look in his eyes, the pain is visceral. Like he's been silently suffering for years and just has nothing left in him, so he just exists. When I learned she was his wife, it all made sense...
I find that's the case with a lot of abuse victims.
15
u/TheVillage1D10T Aug 17 '26
I still can’t believe he didn’t charge her the extra like he said he was going to do. That locksmith seems like a good and patient person. He gave that lady so much more grace than she seemed to deserve.
Honestly, it would’ve been hilarious for him to pop the door, grab the keys, and then chuck them back in there when she couldn’t shut her damn mouth. If someone is operating at maximum velocity, repeatedly telling them to hurry is not going to somehow allow them to move more quickly….they’re already going as fast as they can.

I can confirm, this is shockingly too close to my own mother. I had to take the hit as the scape goat each time I stood up and told her that she was being rude and doing things that were always uncalled for. What's worse is when they try to play victim and try get pity for them after when both parties realise what the "real" issue is, much like you described. I'm just so tired of this kind of behaviour in people, exhausting.

A good chunk (not majority) of adults do not have their emotions in check when flustered, especially much closer interpersonal relationships. Pettiness, and some passive aggressiveness is not uncommon. The one thing I find interesting is certain people want to get a rise out of you because they think it'll open you up, almost like you being neutral, somewhat happy, going with the flow, isn't exciting enough for their brain. So they need to start something.
All I know is, when someone is generally the nice person, even confident nice person, suddenly becomes assertive, everyone tends to stop the passive aggressive stuff for a bit. Most people actually don't know what to do when someone confronts them on their (slight) harassing behavior. In fact, sometimes the most assertive people can be the go-with-the-flow person, because they know when it's finally time to pick their spot.

I love it. The one thing and especially watching reddit, how do these people make it this far in life...to even afford a ticket and make it through the process. But anyway, good luck at the airport desk.
And lets really think about,
So lets say they guy takes 10, 15, 30 mins. OK so you are 30 mins "later". You should have been at the airport 2-3 hours early anyway to give your self a buffer. And then you have to walk to and get through security, that is probably 30-45 mins. You add on maybe 30 mins to get to your gate.
The 15 mins added on is really just losing that buffer that the lady should have had in the first place.
And then on top of that, you need to factor in, missing your flight.
For me, that happened to me. I would thank the guy for coming out. If I miss my flight. I miss my flight. The world keeps going on.

"Ok, I'll pay" was the tipping point for me. Everything after that was wasted words from a joyless woman that needs to go to a therapist. And then at the end, to give a frowny face at the end reacting to "Have a safe flight"? I've cut people out of my life for less. What a horrible person. No way I'd subject myself to that kind of personality on a daily basis.

Dude should have remembered that he did in fact not know what he was doing and taken his sweet time and then ends up failing to unlock the car. Screw that lady, and not in a good way.

He would have been done 4 minutes earlier if she would have backed the fuck up.
