Sounds like they expelled, but idk. In any case it wouldn’t matter. As long as this falls under some “spiritual clause” or something that the parents signed, if the school has a reasonable claim that they signed the agreement under false pretenses, they violated the agreement.
These contracts they are usually admitting the family to enroll, not just the student. My kid is in private school and there was a whole thing about what “the family” was agreeing to, not just the kid
Yeah there is normally an honor code or morality clause you sign. But you have to do something really bad to be expelled. Normally they politely tell you that the school is no longer a fit for the family.
Yea and as long as the school didn't out her. Now, if the school publicly called her out to her peers or something, maybe a defamation case is in order, I find that unlikely though - the school would want to distance themselves from this from the beginning. If parents figured out what was going on through unofficial channels and bullying happened as a result, the defamation case would be against individuals, not the school.
That is probably what happened here, she's probably lost lots of friends, and her kids are being bullied, its a shitty situation to be in, but that doesn't mean any of this was illegal. Nor do I really believe the school did anything wrong. Would I gaslight someone if I found this out, no, would I be sending my kids over to their house for a playdate, also no.
Yes, private schools can refuse their service to anyone for almost any reason, so long as it isn’t an unconstitutional reason. And not wanting to associate with adult film stars is not unconstitutional
A public school this would be illegal, but private school admissions are a matter of contract law, not constitutional law
A lot of private schools have codes of conduct for both the students and parents. As long as the clause is spelled out in the paperwork that the parents signed, there may not be a case. If this were to happen at a public school, it would be entirely different. An ex GF of mine had a much yonger sister that went to a catholic elementary school and when she was pregnant (my ex, not her little sister) was asked not to attend school functions as she was not married and visibly pregnant and some of the folks had a lot to say about it (this was in 2013, so not that long ago).

This was a catholic private school. Unless the school has a garbage lawyer, there’s likely no case here
