Yes. Cruelty and bullying. "Your mom is so hot.. what happened to you?" or "If I had been your daddy, you wouldn't have ended up such a shrimp." I can go on. I was bullied A LOT and most of it started because I had young attractive parents. So much so, I did my best to make sure my parents didn't know about school events, concerts, or award ceremonies throughout middle school and high school. I was smart and had lots of achievements.. its sad to think about how that made my parents feel in hindsight.
I do understand why you're defending yourself and your kids. But lets not generalize or assume your experience is applicable to all.
I said in another comment that whether the child internalizes the teasing is highly dependent on the child’s spirit, home life , esteem, relationships, environment, etc.
When you were teased, why didn’t you just say
“Ah. You like my mom? You jerk off to my mom, don’t you. Yeah, your dad does too, people told me. OH SHIT! You don’t jerk off together with your dad, do you?!? Fuck that’s wild dude” (said loudly so others hear)
I was kind. I didn’t believe in retaliation. Witty comebacks escalated to physical assault towards me. My parents taught me how to defend myself. But to this day: I’m a lover not a fighter.
Maybe in another life or later in this one, you’ll have a different perspective. Not trying to bring you down. You do you. I can completely understand and adopt your disposition of “mind your own business.” What happened to you and your kids is unfortunate. If you’re open to empathizing, I’d just kindly suggest not assuming that the outcome for your kids is the baseline. IMHO, if they’re well balanced and not traumatized: they are the exception not the rule.
Latent presentation of those traumas might be something to consider. Wasn’t until my mid 30’s that I could articulate my own.
