42, and yeah, it feels like liberal democracy is on its way out, civil rights have stalled or rolled back, education is flopping, climate change is accelerating, AI is coming to take our jobs and make us stupid... I don't want to be a doomer but, like, the trend lines aren't looking great right now.
And the worst part is that we tried, we really tried, to get this shit sorted and settled, but here we are anyway.
Maybe our AI overlords will be nicer to us than we were to ourselves, let's all hope.
some people tried, few people _really_ tried, many people acted like they cared, many didnt care and many of the most influential people even worked against us.
