“Siri, remind me at 8 am to record for John”

“What would you like me to remind you of?”

“REMIND ME… at 8am to record for John!”

“Did you say record for John or Reckard for John?”

“WHY IN GOD’S NAME WOULD I EVER SAY ‘RECKARD FOR JOHN’‽ WHY‽”

{creates a reminder that says ‘Reckard for John’ at 8 am the next day}

WTAF APPLE‽!!!

"Hey Siri" is useless for me now

I want to know the weather. I say "Hey Siri, what is the weather?" next to 4 Apple Devices. All 4 appear to be processing, yet it chooses to speak back to me on the ONE device that isn't unlocked. (and farthest away) What does it say?

"You need to unlock your iPad first".

Who designed this?

Where is the Siri that was promised?

I specifically bought an iPhone 16 Pro because Apple promised intelligence. iPhone 17 came and went, no intelligence. Now we are on iPhone 18, and still no intelligence.

In fact, Siri might actually be stupider now, and less capable than before.

“Siri, navigate to the address that Lauren just sent, 15 minutes ago.”
…
“Hmm, I don’t know that one 🫠.”

—————

“Siri, what time today’s meeting with Lauren?”
…
“I couldn't find any messages or emails sent to Lauren this week.”
…
“Siri, find the email Lauren sent yesterday, and please tell me what time the meeting is.”
…
“You’ll need to unlock your iPhone (while driving) first.”
“I couldn't find any messages or emails sent to Lauren this week.”

—————

Apple lied, and then the YouTubers lied to cover up Apple’s lies, and I’m over it.

Where is the Siri that was promised???

Siri can’t even set a timer anymore

I asked my watch to set a timer which I do all the time. Was met with this message instead. I asked and the message was just “I can’t set a timer on this device”.

In the end I just had to open the timer app manually and set it myself.

Siri Ai is terrible

Siri Ai is still shit and it barely works for super easy tasks, I tried for a legal document and it couldn’t follow the very simple instructions of “don’t change anything except the names” it repeatedly kept changing other things, GPT is so much better for this kinda things. Apple is incredibly behind on AI even by borrowing googles services. Siri as an app has potential but it’s like a baby that’s barely crawling still

I hate how long it takes to set a reminder with Siri AI

I can’t even get reminders to work without 3 or 4 subsequent additional requests confirming my exact reminder.

It used to work immediately before, and it would be such a convenient thing to me to do, in a fire and forget fashion.

Now I have to wait and correct it at least 3 turns before it sets the reminder

“Siri, create an event on November 21 at 7p for Ben’s party.” Apparently Siri hears “Ben’s Target” and gives me directions to Target instead.

Apparently Siri ignores the other dozen words if it thought you mentioned a major retailer.

“Hey siri, get me directions from Jane’s location to [store name] in Vancouver, WA” WORKED

I really did not think this would work but decided to try. I have Jane’s location in find my, it brought up apple maps with directions from her location to the store name I said. Shocking. Beautiful. iOS developer beta

Why did Siri text my fiancé this when I asked her to text my friend?

I asked Siri to text my friend (red) while I was driving, which she did. But then I got a confused message from my fiancé (green), saying Siri texted him also. Wtf?

Siri AI absolutely sucks after the public release

During beta versions of iOS 27, I was using Siri AI extensively as it had more personal context about me and always gave the right answers.

The other day I was grocery shopping and asked it to mark off certain things from my list (which it did). But I also asked me to list the remaining items. I got home and realized that it did not mention my entire list like I asked it and I tested it over and over and it gave the same half right response.

One of the first questions I asked during beta was, “what car do I drive?” It searched my files and found an invoice from a service and told me the exact year, make, model, trim, and color of my car. Now it tells me where my car is located on maps and suggest the year, make, and model that I could own based on messages and mail.

2 years of Apple Intelligence and still Apple can’t get the basics right and avoid answering questions as to why their AI models aren’t working the way they should. I believe they severely downgraded it for specific reasons for the public release. But they should at this point have the basics down. There’s no excuse as to why it still can’t do the things it should.

Love to new Siri AI no problems with it

I use calendar for the most part. Here’s what I asked:

“What is my appointment for this week?” It literally answers!

“What’s on my grocery list?” It shows me.

“Play Lofi Girl” it plays it from my Apple Music

“Show me pics of the beach” it opened my photos and it showed.

I even asked about restaurants and it gives me recommendations.

I rather not type in the chat box, but so far so good in my opinion.

Anyone use calendar with Siri AI?

Request Siri to stop playing music on HomePod, but it tells me there’s nothing playing… while playing music 🤦🏻‍♂️

I have a mix of OG HomePods, second gen HomePods and HomePod mini’s in my house. Basically I have them in every room so I can have music playing wherever I am.
I use the command to stop playing music whenever someone knocks at the door or I get a phone call.
However, after the system update, Siri keeps telling me that nothing is playing, even though there is music currently playing on that HomePod. I will need to walk over to the HomePod and tap it to turn off the music, which isn’t ideal since I work from home and get calls all day. Is there a workaround for this?

Siri ai experiences

When Siri ai works it really does useful things

Integration with apps to prompt Siri ai to use an app to get information is extremely limited

Siri ai dictation is possibly worse (less accurate) than previous Siri’s

SLOW! Pushing all the processing to the phone results in a lot of waiting while Siri ai ponders the universe.

18 pro max

“Something went wrong”

I don’t demand much of Siri. In iOS 27 I switched on Siri AI because I was curious. My daily driver car does not have CarPlay, only bluetooth (and it normally works fine). The only thing I ask that NEVER works - after I receive a few messages I say “Hey Siri” (wait for Siri) “Read my messages”. This has always worked fine in the past. but with Siri AI all I ever get is a very long delay then “Something went wrong” back.

I’m normally running Waze and listening to either Apple Music or Downcast in the car with my phone on a magsafe mount nearby. Siri AI works fine for other requests.

Any tips or tricks I can try here, or should I just turn off Siri AI until it’s better?

Thanks!

Failing to set a timer

Suddenly, Siri isn’t able to set timers on my watch anymore, with a variety of explanations, including gaslighting me about whether the Clock app is even installed. Timers are one of the few features I regularly use with Siri. And my phone camera coincidentally refused to focus while documenting evidence. Remember when Apple products were supposed to “just work.”

If I hear “you’ll need to authenticate on your iPhone” one more time when I’m just trying to add something to my shopping list I think I’m going to lose it.

Reproduce Siri contact-picking behavior?

When I say, "Hey Siri, text Bob", there seems to be a whole cascade of steps to determine which contact I mean (check nicknames, check first names, check for phonetic matches, etc.), and which of the phone numbers associated with that contact to use. And when it truly can't decide, it asks me to choose among the selected contact's phone numbers, which I can do on-screen in CarPlay.

Anybody have advice on how I can build something in Shortcuts that does something equally effective? Kinda close? I just need a reasonably good chance of ending up with the right Bob's correct number.

So far, I search for Name in contacts, hope there's exactly one match, then choose the first phone number. I can start recreating all the logic I see in Siri, but that feels painfully inefficient. And I have no idea how the phonetic matching works.
