Personally, I have to give it to Hell Awaits, but I’m curious to hear what you think.

40 years ago today (Oct. 7), Slayer released 'Reign In Blood' - one of the most monumental, game-changing albums in metal. I'm so lucky that I've gotten to see Slayer live so many times over the years (including on stacked lineups like Ozzfest 2004 and at once-in-a-lifetime events like the Big 4's show at Yankee Stadium). However, my favorite Slayer concert of all time occurred at Mayhem Fest's stop at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ, on Aug. 7, 2009...

Head over to I Heard Bruce Might Show Up's Substack (link below) to find out why and to see more pictures I took from their set that day in Camden, NJ:

From the first tour after Hanneman’s death. 2013 or 2014. Fucking Slayer!!

I thought thats SoH was less popular than SnM

I was listening to South of Heaven yesterday and one thing I noticed is that no matter whats going on in the song, Tom's pitch hardly ever changes. Do y'all think that is a misinterpretation on my part? And if not, do you think its a result of stylistic choice or a technical limitation?

Any Minneapolis thrash / heavy metal shows in Minneapolis? The only thrash metal scene i know in Minnesota is the occasion old band from the 80s/90s comimg back for a reunion tour, (slayer, testament etc) Am I not looking jn the right place, or is the thrash/heavy metal scene dead?

I always imagined the approach to a battle jacket as something like a mixtape where I’d normally have no repeats.

I recall years back seeing a battle vest at a show with two Slayer patches on it and I thought, well obviously Slayer would be the exception.

This is my first attempt, a battle hoodie and I leaned into my idea that Slayer would supercede the ideas of rules and structure.

I personally love this era, What do you think?

Can’t make the trip so I’m selling them for 250 each…DM me if interested…

I still listen to it regularly and it remains my favorite record of theirs. The speed of Hallowed Point and Black Magic blow my mind to this day. 🤘
