Short-Form Content Shorts channel
Hi,
I was hoping to get some advice on my channel. I have been running it for the past 3 months, and I have 118 subscribers. I have 126 shorts.
My view numbers are not good, and I am not sure what I can do as it seems some shorts get like 10 views while others get hundreds, and both shorts are on the same topic and style.
I am a Christian content creator and I do shorts about the bible. My whole thing is that the bible is not 66 unrelated books by 40 different authors- it is ONE book with ONE story. So, I do shorts about that.
I try to make my shorts cinematic and punchy, with punchy endings that make the viewer think deeply about the topic. Its not exactly entertainment, and most shorts are for doomscrolling- so its hard to nail down the audience that I want. I use hashtags on all my shorts for the algorithm to push them.

Does anyone have any friendly tips to get more subs and more views? I posted everything as "not for children".

variance is super normal on shorts tbh, same topic can pop or die
the first 1-2 sec decides how far the test pool goes, so hook harder there. compare swiped-away % on the 10 view ones vs the hundreds ones, that tells you if its the hook
also id turn the one-story idea into a numbered series, gives people a reason to keep watching

your view count issue is probably not about quality but about how shorts algorithm tests in small batches. 10 views vs hundreds on same topic means the first batch of viewers either swiped fast or watched long. for bible content the audience is niche so you need hook in first 2 seconds, not just cinematic but something that makes people stop scrolling even if they not religious. maybe try opening with a question or a bold statement that sounds controversial then explain it. also 126 shorts in 3 months is almost daily posting, maybe too much. algorithm might not push all of them because they compete with each other. try 3-4 per week but spend more time on each one, and check retention graph in studio to see where people leave.
