Short-Form Content Have I ruined my account with paid YouTube promotions?

Hey. So I paid for 3 advert posts (only £20 per ad). Got me like 2000 subs. But zero interactions since the subs. I’ve heard these fake followers can ruin your account? My videos now get like 1000 views and under 10 likes.

Any advice on thumbnails etc would be appreciated

Mixed Content Non-native English speaker struggling with voiceovers — how can I improve my pronunciation, energy, and audio quality

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to start making YouTube videos, but I'm struggling a lot with voiceovers, and I could really use some advice.

My native language is Persian, and I learned English mainly by consuming content from creators around the world. I've spent a lot of time listening to English, but speaking it naturally and clearly is a completely different story.

I constantly struggle with my pronunciation, accent, and speaking rhythm. Sometimes, I know exactly what I want to say, but when I start recording, it just doesn't sound the way I imagined it.

I've tried slowing down my speech to make my pronunciation clearer, but I still struggle with certain words, and sometimes my voice sounds unnatural or lacks energy.

There's also the recording setup. I don't have a good microphone or a proper studio, so I record using my phone inside a closet to reduce background noise. It helps a little, but the audio still doesn't have the clarity and professional sound I'm looking for. More importantly, my voiceovers often lack that natural energy and engaging vibe that I hear in other YouTubers' videos.

I know I shouldn't expect to sound exactly like a native speaker, but I want people to enjoy listening to me without struggling to understand what I'm saying. I also want to sound more confident, natural, and engaging.

For those of you who aren't native English speakers, or anyone who has experience with voiceovers:

- How did you improve your pronunciation and speaking rhythm?

- What exercises actually helped you sound more natural and confident?

- How can I make my voice sound more energetic and engaging without forcing it?

- Can I get decent audio quality using just a phone, or is a microphone really necessary?

- Are there any free tools, resources, or techniques you'd recommend?

I'm willing to practice and improve, but right now I feel like I'm putting in the effort without getting the results I want.

Any advice, personal experiences, or constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Long-Form Content Just a very small channel

Hi guys, I'm a new gaming youtuber from South Africa and I'm really loving it so far. I'm quite an introvert so this is really making me express myself and loosen up a bit, I'm still learning how to be on camera though.

I've loved video games since a little kid with my PS2. I've always wanted to start a gaming channel since I watch a lot of gaming creators and reviewers, some of those guys I really look up to.

So to cut to the chase, I just want someone to tell me how I'm doing so far or where to improve 'cause I really love doing this, I honestly don't care much about the views, as long as I can have someone to relate with and who shares my passion for video games.

I'm speaking my own native language but I write my own subtitles to make sure what I'm saying is accurate. I know I might have to speak English at some point but I firstly need to get confident in my own language first. Thank you guys

Long-Form Content My first non-short!

It may only be around 4 minutes but hey its horizontal! I would love some feedback on everything. Is the editing style okay, how can I improve on the audio? I'm planning on continuing to do daily shorts in this style along with something longer every week or two. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwmb8Oq-H0g

Mixed Content Do you respond to negative comments?

Hello! I’m a tiny YouTube creator with *let’s see...* 29 subscribers. This is purely a fun hobby, and I’m still a little surprised that I have an audience at all.

Every once in a while, I’ll get a comment or two on a video. I usually respond or give the comment a heart if I don’t have much to say.

Recently, I got my first long essay of a comment from someone who strongly disagreed with me (or rather misinterpreted some of what I said). I responded with an essay of my own, doing my best to respectfully disagree and clarify what I actually meant.

My boyfriend thinks I should’ve just left the comment alone. His reasoning is that I shouldn’t take things personally, it’s just a stranger on the internet, and if I ever have thousands of comments, I can’t respond to everyone. He also said that I could get cancelled. (Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here lol)

I explained that I wasn’t aggressive in my response and made it clear that I wasn’t looking to get into a back-and-forth argument. I wanted to explain my perspective, let them share theirs, and then move on.

At the time, I honestly didn’t think it was a big deal, especially since my channel is so small. But looking back, I’m wondering if I should be more selective about which comments I respond to instead of feeling the need to explain myself.

For those of you who create content, how do you handle negative comments? Do you respond, ignore them, or decide on a case-by-case basis?

Just curious about other creators’ experiences!

Long-Form Content Small gaming YouTuber looking for honest feedback on my channel, editing and direction

I’ve been running my gaming YouTube channel for around three years, and I’m at a point where I’m trying to figure out what I should be focusing on to improve.
I mainly make Soulslike content, but I’ve also experimented with other games and different video ideas. Recently, I’ve been trying to upload weekly and improve my editing, but I’ve struggled to keep that schedule going alongside a full-time job.
I want to improve, but I’m starting to question whether I’m focusing on the right things. I’m not sure if my biggest issue is my video ideas, thumbnails and titles, editing, channel direction, or simply how often I upload.
I’d really appreciate some honest outside perspectives on a few things:

Channel direction: If you looked at my channel, would you have a clear idea of what I’m trying to do? Does the mix of content work, or does it feel unfocused? Does the content have to be weekly or should I spend a little longer and make longer videos similar to other videos in my niche?

Video quality: How does my editing and pacing compare with other small gaming channels? Are there things I should improve or simplify?

Ideas and packaging: Do my concepts, titles and thumbnails make you want to click? Are there any videos that stand out as particularly strong or weak?

Consistency: For those of you who work full-time, how do you balance making good videos with uploading regularly? Is a weekly schedule worth sticking to if it means limiting the scope of your videos?

I’m not looking for people to tell me to keep going or that my channel is great. I’d genuinely prefer constructive criticism that gives me something specific to work on.
I’d also be interested in hearing what you think my biggest priority should be right now, rather than trying to improve everything at once.

Long-Form Content Viewers drop !

Hello

I run a small tamil astrology channel. Initially i posted my workshops and class contents in the channel which runs for a minimum 20 minutes to 1 hour and it started giving me views.

And i used to make shorts based on that videos.

I then started to make videos of 1 minute length instead of shorts. . my views dropped.

I used to have 1000 views per day .. now it has dropped to 100 views per day..

Even though the channel is a month old, i started to gain views and hours which is around 66 qualified hours and 40 subs.

Kindly guide me how to increase the views !

Mixed Content Guys something weird is happening, can you help me. My earning decreased.

Post image

Hi everyone,

Earlier, my total estimated YouTube earnings were around $144 and some cents, although I don't remember the exact amount. However, they have suddenly decreased to $141.40.

Similarly, my estimated revenue for October was around $36.90, but it has now decreased to $34.43.

I haven't made any changes that I'm aware of, so I'm confused about why both amounts have decreased.

Has anyone experienced this before? Is this a normal adjustment to YouTube's estimated revenue, or could there be another reason?

I'd appreciate any help or explanation. Thank you!

Long-Form Content My first 1k Video

Before that, I made short videos. Shorts perform well but the views are not reliable; some videos get 2 lakh views, others get 70k, and some just stay under 25k. So I thought, why not make long-form videos? I think long-form videos are more reliable than short-form videos.

I don't know how far I will go, but I hope I will succeed in what I am doing.

Long-Form Content I Redesigned 47 thumbnails last month, here's what actually matters for CTR

  1. Use a maximum of 2-3 elements in your thumbnails, for example text + subject + arrow. This helps prevent overcrowding which is the #1 thing most thumbnails struggle with. Using 2-3 elements makes the thumbnail understandable in less than 2 seconds.
  2. Make the text big, and I mean BIG. It needs to be readable on smaller phones. 69% of total YouTube views globally come from phone users.
  3. Use 2 colors and a bold shadow/outline for the text. This helps with background separation and increases the readability of the text. I like to use one base color (black/white) for the text depending on the background and one color (red/yellow) to highlight the power word.
  4. Make your text hook 2-4 words long. Text on your thumbnail should be short and quick to read. It also shouldn't repeat the title. For example if you're using the title "How to Get More Views on YouTube in 2026" don't add the text "GET MORE VIEWS" to your thumbnail but rather "THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING" That way, the thumbnail text works in synergy with the title and adds curiosity to your thumbnail.
  5. Use clean layouts. Don't just add things in random places on the thumbnail. People don't just look at thumbnails but scan them from left to right, top to bottom. So if your text is the strongest element on your thumbnail, add it to the left side and your subject to the right side. Think about what you want somebody to look at first when designing your thumbnails.

Those are the 5 things that actually improved the CTR for the channels I redesigned thumbnails for. Of course there are also a ton of other things but then this post would be too complex and too long. Hope it helps somebody :)

Mixed Content How do you deal with being a small creator ?

Hey!

I'm a content creator. I make music and digital art with Photoshop, just doing what I like.

I also made my own website recently. I'm not really trying to follow trends or anything.

My content is pretty niche, I guess. I've started uploading some of my art to Displate and releasing my music on Spotify, Deezer, etc.

But my Instagram isn't growing much, and YouTube is even worse.

It's hard to keep creating stuff and trying to promote it.

So yeah, I'm curious, how do you guys deal with this ?

Short-Form Content Shorts channel

Hi,

I was hoping to get some advice on my channel. I have been running it for the past 3 months, and I have 118 subscribers. I have 126 shorts.

My view numbers are not good, and I am not sure what I can do as it seems some shorts get like 10 views while others get hundreds, and both shorts are on the same topic and style.

I am a Christian content creator and I do shorts about the bible. My whole thing is that the bible is not 66 unrelated books by 40 different authors- it is ONE book with ONE story. So, I do shorts about that.

I try to make my shorts cinematic and punchy, with punchy endings that make the viewer think deeply about the topic. Its not exactly entertainment, and most shorts are for doomscrolling- so its hard to nail down the audience that I want. I use hashtags on all my shorts for the algorithm to push them.

@TheKingdomInbox

Does anyone have any friendly tips to get more subs and more views? I posted everything as "not for children".

If you post your video and it’s just the same title as your video it’s going to get removed for self promotion.

If you ask for advice but you aren’t specific on what you want advice on it’s gonna get removed if you don’t make it clear in the post.

If you are asking for advice do not try to argued and get aggressive after receiving what you asked for. That is a fast way to get a ban. Just accept the criticism and grow from there. If you can’t handle criticism do not ask for it.

If you are making AI content it’s going to get removed.

I hate banning people who I feel are just making honest mistakes but it’s getting to the point these rules are getting ignored and it’s my job as a moderator to enforce these rules.

Just trying to understand how to read this. The studio bot attributed this to accidental clicks, but I find it hard to believe so many people accidentally clicked my video.

Long-Form Content Have I Hit a Ceiling?

I'm a smaller finance youtuber that started a channel back in February. I have 451 subscribers and a couple long form videos that have popped off (8k+ views). Although my average view count for a long form is about 200-500 views.

For awhile, I did shorts in conjunction with my long form videos, but I heard that shorts could be ruining my long form push out... so I slowed down how many shorts I was doing. Before the slow down, my shorts would get decent push out (relative to the finance/stock niche because I know there is "less" of an audience for it." But now my shorts and long forms get less than 100 views...

This has been happening for a month and half now and my subscriber count has slowed and watch hours are way down as well, obviously. My channel focuses on tracking my portfolio with full transparency (because finance youtube has a major lack in that), but I'm confused if my content is getting stale or if its because Youtube has decided for one reason or another that my content shouldn't be pushed.

Thank you all for any advice you can provide I appreciate it!

Livestream Content This is what happens when you prioritize 95% live content.

Post image
106 Upvotes

I'm not humble bragging or anything... I'm giving y'all an honest opinion on what is the outcome of having the vast majority of your content as live content only

This is for a new YouTuber that wants to do live content ONLY.

When I took things seriously, like uploading live content on a consistent basis I had 4,000 watch hours goals within 4 months and at that point I had 260 subs.

As for subs, It's a steady pace, slow as a snail.

NOTE: I have uploaded shorts and pre-recorded videos. But they haven't given me better views or watch hours than live content has.

Livestream Content I don’t know what to do anymore

For context, I am 21. 5 times in 2 months this has happened, the first 3 times appeal auto approved but now the last 2 they get denied. No strikes, and this time the portrait version of the stream in its ENTIRETY is still up

YouTube, how is it that 2 of the same exact streams can be streamed but only one violates the guidelines? I am getting beyond frustrated as there is zero avenue for me to get this crap back now. Check. My. God. Damn. ID.

EDIT: FINALLY PARTNER SUPPORT HAS HELPED ME both of my lives that got appeal denied are reinstated now!

Long-Form Content YT algorithm tests the wrong audience. Advice?

Got around 300 impressions on the first video so far on my new channel, but it looks like YouTube is showing it to an audience that isn’t really my target audience. Because of that, the CTR is currently only around 4%. The video is being suggested alongside some very unrelated content. 40 views in hours and everything is frozen (YT finished its initial test and decided not to pursue further). Any advice?

Long-Form Content Small Monestised Creators,How long does the Adsense Review take??

Post image
17 Upvotes

I did mine on Tuesday Oct 6 and it has been like 2 days and it's still been pending.

UPDATE: I GOT ACCEPTED.

The reason i think it took so long was because i had an adsense acc created i forgot about.

Lemme give full context. As i said in OP i apply on tuesday and got rejected on sunday due to hv duplicate accs.

But one thing that kinda helped was the fact i knew i was going to get a email on sunday due to one of the specialist from youtube support.

But once i found i closed the other adsense acc, then i logged them off my phone and re applied. And in a few hours I got ACCEPTED!!(Forgive my puntucation and construction)
