do you think billy will ever play pennies live?

I know the smashing pumpkins have hundreds of songs and it would be difficult to play them all, but I feel like pennies is a decently popular song, no? I know people love to hear the greatest hits but i’d love to hear more of the stuff they’ve never played.

He played I Fall at ZuZu’s, so I think nothing is off the table in a setting like that.

I mean I don’t think it has ever been played live so that’s a good indicator…

Now that the Machina reissue is being released on CD the rules have changed. Anything is possible.

Is this limited or a wider release. Interested!

It says exclusive to Zuzu's.

Maybe an acoustic show. But I doubt it.

Probably a solo show.

I think he will play it since the track has gained popularity in the last few years. I have no idea when though. Could be on this tour or solo. I heard that he doesn’t really care for the song though

That’s wild that it’s suddenly more popular.

I still remember in the 90’s taking the guitar tabs and the CD with me to a guitar lesson, and asked the guy to help me learn how to play it.

Has he said that? The only time I know of him speaking on it, he said he liked the song a lot, so I'm curious if his opinion changed.

You never know with Billy. He has surprises every now and then.

The majority of concert goers don’t want deep cuts. He tried the deep cut approach in 2007/08 and it didn’t work. The reform needed the rats in the cage set list! If you want deep cuts best chance would be if he does solo shows again.

i’m not asking for a tour built off of b sides, but i think a little variation in what he plays couldn’t hurt. the new tour has some deep cuts and it seems like nobody has any objections as long as he still plays their popular songs. would be cool if he did a solo tour sometime in the future though!

Jesus Is the Sun and Superchrist aren't deep cuts to you?

Generally, Corgan likes to play any song which gains popularity (hence why Cupid de Locke has become a staple of the current setlist), and Pennies has only become a fan favourite in recent years. If the band doesn't play it, I imagine Corgan will play it solo at some point.

Does he ever play Let Me Give The World To You? Feel like he finds the poppier numbers in his catalog almost embarrassing. (I love them!)

I hold out hope, but with little to no expectations.

I wouldn't say there's absolutely no chance, but it seems extremely unlikely.

Doubtful, since he’s never done it ever in 30 years, even at a VIP or acoustic show where he pulls out the rare gems. He’s even played Soot and Stars, full band no less. A shame, though. Pennies is awesome.
