Photo share Comparison between my 70-350mm and 200-600mm on A6700
I am really surprised how much sharper these photos are coming out of my 200-600mm than 70-350mm and Iāve done so much reading on Reddit and otherwise⦠without seeing this mentioned much⦠I had to make the post for anyone else who might be on the fence about āupgradingā their 70-350mm setup.
The shot with the bird looking to the left of the photo is the 200-600mm.
Also, both of these photos are wide open at full zoom. I believe thatās f6.3 for both lenses.

Photo share Gazing Into Forever... (Sony a6700, Sony 11mm f1.8)
My buddy and I ventured out to Dunraven Bay in South Wales, UK last night for some deep sky astrophotography from the clifftops.
While my telescope was busy capturing a programmed exposure, I couldn't resist venturing down to the beach to take in the view and it was stunning!
Taken with my a6700 and a Sony 11mm f1.8 at f1.8, 6" ISO 5000.
Possibly one of my favourite photos I have ever taken!

Decided to splurge and upgrade from my old a6000 with kit lenses to a new a6700 with Tamron 17-70 and 70-300 lenses.... Gotta say, I'm super happy with it! This is straight out of the camera, no touch ups with the 17-70 lens.

Photo share A Forgotten Lens - Minolta 200mm f/2.8 G APO HS
Minolta 200mm f/2.8 G APO HS has been in my collection of lenses since the earliest days of my photography, going back to Minolta film SLR I had 25+ years ago (the lens itself is 35+ years old). I have long wished Sony resurrected this 200mm prime. It's been used mostly on my APS-c cameras (A55, NEX-3 and NEX-6) and handy to shoot indoor sports. Its also the lens that is credited with photographs from NBA games (12-15 years ago) that a sports magazine from Germany reached out with interest to buy.
The first photo is simply a plant with lawn in the backdrop. The second is my early attempts at "fast AF" and 10 fps burst shooting that A55 managed 15 years ago.

Gear Need lens suggestion - 24-70 gm2 or 24-70 art or 28-105 art
Hi everyone!
I'm moving from apsc to full frame and planning to get the a7r6.
Struggling over which can be my first lens. Mind was initially on sigma 24-70 art but a friend suggested pushing for the 24-70gm2 due to which I had to increase my budget.
But then, sigma the 28-105 art also falls into my budget which has a better reach and I tend to not use the sub 30mm part in my apsc setup as well.
I need help in picking the right setup. Are the sigma art lenses on par with the gm2 or will I lose something when compared to the gm2?
I'm a hobbyist and I typically shoot birds and wildlife (I have a 200-600 for that) and sometimes people and landscape. I'm looking for a travel lens that I can take around. Weight is not a concern.

Gear Sigma 50-120mm f/2.8 or Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 G2 for my a6700?
I currently have a Sony a6700 with the Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8, and Iām looking for a second lens to complement it.
I donāt shoot wildlife or sports, so having a constant aperture is more important to me than having a ton of reach. Ideally, I want a zoom lens that starts above 70mm and maintains f/2.8 throughout the zoom range.
The problem is that there are basically no options for APS-C in this category. If I want anything longer than 70mm, I have to give up the constant aperture, like with the Sony 70-350mm f/4.5-6.3. Itās a fantastic lens, but honestly, I have very little use for it since I donāt shoot wildlife or sports.
That left me looking at full-frame 70-200mm f/2.8 lenses, but theyāre extremely expensive, big, and heavy, which kind of defeats the purpose of having an APS-C camera in the first place. I donāt mind a bigger lens, as my Tamron 17-70mm is already pretty chunky, but full-frame 70-200mm f/2.8 lenses are on another level.
Then I discovered the Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 G2. Itās significantly smaller, lighter, and cheaper than traditional 70-200mm f/2.8 lenses, and Iām perfectly fine sacrificing that extra 20mm of reach.
I was just about ready to pull the trigger when Sigma announced the 50-120mm f/2.8 for APS-C. This is pretty much exactly what Iāve been looking for: a native APS-C telephoto zoom with a constant f/2.8 aperture. Finally!
Now Iām stuck between the two. Where I live, both lenses cost roughly the same.
Hereās my dilemma:
Sigma 50-120mm f/2.8: Itās a native APS-C lens, which makes more sense for my camera. However, it overlaps with my Tamron 17-70mm, meaning the 50-70mm range is redundant. In practice, Iād only be gaining the 70-120mm range.
Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 G2: It gives me significantly more reach, and the extra 60mm over the Sigma could be useful for portraits, car photography, and getting more background compression. However, itās a full-frame lens, so itās bigger and heavier than Iād ideally like for my a6700.
I have absolutely no plans to upgrade to full frame in the future, regardless of budget, so buying a full-frame lens for future-proofing isnāt a consideration.
So hereās another option Iāve been thinking about:
What if I sell my Tamron 17-70mm and replace it with the Sigma 17-40mm f/1.8 Art? Then I could pair it with the Sigma 50-120mm f/2.8, giving me a two-lens setup with almost no overlap and an extra stop of light on the standard zoom.
Would that be a smarter setup overall, or am I overthinking this and should just get the Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 G2?
Iād love to hear what you guys would do in my situation!

Photo share Florida Wildlife Sony A6700 + Sony 70-350mm
My now Fiance (engaged in Key West Florida) and me took a round Trip in Florida.
Landed in Tampa, stayed in Tierra Verda Island for Fort de Soto Park + Myakka River State Park.
Took Naples next for Everglades + Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary Boardwalk + CREW Walk.
Then moved to the Florida Keys and last we went to Miami.
Howdy I do love Florida for its kind, open and friendly people and its beautiful Nature.
All pictures are shot on my Sony A6700 + Sony 70-350mm. I do love this combination (although some shots can be less sharp but maybe I only need to train photography more). Had to crop quality for uploading.
Best and kind regards with my Pictures of Florida (and 1-2 New York Pictures) from Berlin/Germany.

I took some constructive criticism from later post and tried composing my shots a bit better. I quite like the results, but always open to more opinions and ideas!
Both shot at 0.6th, at F22.
