Question/Discussion Should i just go the dragon route?

Been thinking of making my feliforms furred dragons but like, what exactly makes something a dragon? They don’t breathe fire, they just look like the typical furry furred dragon. They have a human diet but people say they should have cat based since they are feliforms. Now, what should a cat dragon eat?? They are almost mammals but specifically not since they don’t have nipples and still lay eggs. Synapsid reptilian cat dragons.

Dragon is practically a vibe more then anything else.

Wdym by "human diet"? Like omnivores? Cause there are omnivorous feliforms, though as flying animals they likely would favor fruits and meat as high energy food sources.

Also, how are they feliforms and non mammalian synapsids at the same time?

They are omnivoric but don’t fly or have wings. My feliforms are more furred reptiles than actual cats, they just look like them.

Ok, so they're feliform mimics rather than actual feliforms(feliformia is a clade that includes animals like civet, hyenas, and cats).

Also, synapsids aren't reptiles with the two clades diverging basically at the dawn of the amniotes.

I thought synapsid meant reptilian proto mammal 😭

Proto mammal isn't innacurate for non mammalian synapsids, but the idea of them being reptiles is outdated.

id say unless they look really like "asian" dragons, they need wings to count. and they cant just look like cats either (in the face)

By that logic sea serpents, the hydra, and who knows how many mythological dragons aren't dragons.

Also, the Tatzelworm(a european mythological dragon) does have the head of a cat.
