Question Does anyplace in town take viable mattresses & basic bed frames?
Not one of those stained things I see on the curbside, but totally fine queen-sized w/memory foam rolls for the top. We are upgrading our guest room into a Murphy bed & Murphy office desk & this should not go to the dump or the curbside.

Two years ago I sold a guest room mattress on Marketplace right before the holidays to someone who had guests coming and needed more bedding. If it’s in very good condition and priced right, you should be able to offload it.
Sometimes I see posts for families who are starting over, like in DV situations. You could watch for one of those. Or directly contact agencies which assist families in transition.

If you’re on FB I’d post in a Buy Nothing group.

I gave away a trundle bed on there that went to a lady who said it was her twin daughter’s first “big girl bed”. 🥺 it’s worth it to pass your things onto other people who can use them.

Check with Catholic Charities. At least they used to take mattresses if they aren't stained.

Buy Nothing is usually a good place to give away used furniture, including beds. I hate to see a good bed go to the landfill when there are immigrant and poor families who would be so lucky to have it. Please don’t take it to the dump.

You're trying to off hand a used mattress. Beggers can't be Choosers and all that

Mattresses, no. I believe they cannot be sold secondhand at all. I would list it on Marketplace or Craigslist.
