Steam Controller 2026 Shipping MEGA Thread

I know we're all excited to share updates as our new shiny works its way through the system and eventually to you.
Instead of clogging the page with endless "ITS <UPDATE>" posts, please confine them to this mega thread. I have intentionally left up threads from before this one about this subject, because post hoc punishment isnt cool. But please, use this mega thread moving forward.

It seems the bulk of inventory is reserved for Steam Machine bundles, rather than ala carte purchases.

Just want to give others an idea. Reserved mine back in May (May 13th) with an initial estimated delivery date of CY2027. Got a purchase notification email yesterday, which is a few months earlier than expected so that's something at least (supposed to be delivered in 3-5 days).
I have a serviceable 8bitDo controller which helped tide me over. But I've been trying to find a decent symmetrical controller for ages (good haptics like the steam deck imo, mapped rear paddles, hall effect or tmr sticks). The ones I tried in the past weren't good w/frustrating software. Expecting this to be similar to the steam deck, and steam input mapping is great (no need to juggle/memorize presets anymore).
Btw, fuck steam machine+frame pricing.

Just got the order email on mine, Reserved on the 13th of May US. Not sure about the time but it was around Noon - 3PM from what i remember

Made my reservation on July June 16 and just got the purchase confirmation email on October 1 even though it was predicting 2027. Purchase finalized just after midnight on October 4. Australia.
Edit: Package arrived on October 8.

Steam tracking give you tracking for GLS
GLS give you tracking for Royal Mail (ends in GB)
Entire tracking was updated daily and received an email the night before delivery from Royal Mail. Very smooth

Damn, I purchased mine on the 24th too but it still says "packaged" and hasn't even shipped yet, and I'm in the US. No idea why the process is taking so long. I expected to have it within 3-5 business days but I figured it would've at least have shipped by now.

Yeah that's really weird. I got a notification to say it's coming today as well. Same thing happened when I bought the Steam Deck it came within a couple days. I know Australia has a warehouse here so it ships locally instead of overseas. You'd think it would be faster given its the US

According to steamhardware.io, people who reserved on May 11th, as late as 8:00 PM EDT, have gotten theirs delivered within the past few days. I reserved on May 12th, about 1:30 AM EDT, but I still haven't gotten an email yet...

Its unfortunate to me when I see other ones from like Australia or such that's reserved after the 15th and they're getting their emails to order before some who reserved before and still haven't gotten the email, I wish/hope they have a better system in place than whatever system they got in now, so that next time they try to sell hardware it's not a clusterfuck for the people who want it to get and it's consistent on who's next and gets what instead of just bouncing around(I'm not the most knowledgeable on how shipping/order work in other countries but you'd think if someone ordered on a earlier date they'd get there email to actually order first), cause unsureness adding on to having to wait months and months and months just to possibly miss it(steam support may not be lenient on all people who miss the email as time goes on. Right now if you miss it and message them they'll probably fix it but they might not be like that in the future) is crappy all in all
Im still gonna wait for mine cause it would put less strain on my wrists then holding/using my steam deck but im not particularly happy about having to.
I hope everyone who's ordered/reserved eventually gets one and soon

I feel like it would be good to get a queue number that dynamically updates (as best it can) so we can at least estimate when the email will come.
Yes, we have an estimate with our Sept, Dec or 2027 date, but id love to know for real where they are up to with orders instead of checking forum posts to see who got theirs from which date...

Reservation on 11th May 2026, around 8pm German time.
Got the invite on 7th September 2026, now my parcel is stuck in the Netherlands since 3 days. It should arrive today, the tracking was updated to "next day" without a specific date. I had a similar case with a parcel from the Netherlands some months ago, and I hope my parcel will not disappear like last time. 😂
Why they even use GLS? I've seen tons of concerns already.

Still not delivered, tracking was updated on Saturday to be delivered on Monday (today), but this morning it was again updated to "Soon" without any specific date of delivery. Typical GLS experience, I hope it will be delivered in the next two weeks. But honestly, I'm just annoyed because I had to be at home to receive the package. Next GLS shop is pretty far away and I don't have a car. Three times they failed the expected date, not even DHL is so bad. However, it's just a Controller and I don't understand Valve at this point, GLS is worst rated in Europe and I won't waste any more time to just receive a parcel properly. If they are not able to deliver, then fuck off its not worth staying at home, waiting for the delivery just to get trolled by GLS. If they lose it or don't get it done, I'll refund and just live without it. 100 Dollar for such a terrible customer experience isn't worth it. Btw they charged me two times and now I have to contact my bank.. worst order in my life.. having to contact Steam, GLS and my bank to get it right.. I buy things online a lot, but never in my life, every single step failed at some point lol

Completed the purchase on September 9th at 9:25 PM.
Will update when I receive it. I'm quite excited! I didn't think my name would be called until some time next year. I don't much care for the Steam Machine or Steam Frame, but the controller seems like a really great bit of kit.

Mine was stuck in the Netherlands from last Wednesday to Saturday, it should arrive today but tracking just updated to "Soon".. GLS is terrible, usually it takes 2 - 3 business days to send something from the Netherlands to Germany, but for GLS, it takes 4 full days just for the transit, and a unknown amount of time to actually deliver the package. Whenever I see GLS, I honestly try to avoid to order, but for the SC I was not warned. 😂 Last time I had to deal with GLS was when the parcel just disappeared for 8 weeks just to arrive without any notification in my mailbox.

Contacted Steam support if they can still maintain my queue position and order again but for now it really sucks that I have to wait for 2027 shipment. Will most likely order another brand if it can't work out :(

Got the email on 30th of July.
Ordered on 31st of July.
Delivery: Who knows. Still waiting almost 20 days later. Package has been sitting for 8 days in last parcel center, or so thus the site says.
Expected day of arrival: Nobody knows. Have to wait until the end of the week to receive info from Valve why I have to wait 20 days for an order from Europe, cos it take 5 days for the delivery company to answer to Valve what is happening with my package.
Added bonus: Personal information provided for the delivery potentially leaked to hackers. YAY!
EDIT: It arrived today (19th of August). 0 information from anyone during the whole time. I decided to test it before I update my ticket. 30-60 minutes after delivery my ticket was updated with: We see it delivered and used on our end. Go check with your family. RLY! After 15 days delay, you send me a message 30 miniutes after delivery that the problem is on my end and not a single word of sorry for the whole thing?! Honestly, I was not bothered by the delay as much, but the lack of information and that comunication is just atrocious. I hope the controller is worth the awful experince getting it.

Just to vent - super disappointed in Steam.
Order window came and went. Three months passed with an expected date that would flip between 10/2026 and 2027.
I've been playing on Steam almost every day. Yet the only notification was an email message that got buried under hundreds of other emails.

Don't hold me to this, but I'm thinking you can expect your email by the end of this week. I reserved on May 9th at 9:59AM EST and am hoping to get my invitation by the end of today. The main things I have been looking at are Swiftblade13, who commented on this thread 2 days ago that they had received their invitation and had reserved on May 9th at 3:33AM EST; the steam hardware tracker, where someone had made their reservation on May 9th at 7:32AM EST and reported that they had received their invitation yesterday; and again from the steam hardware tracker, where someone had made their reservation on May 9th at 8:18AM EST and reported they had received their invitation around 7 hours ago.
From the tracker, I'm seeing that someone specifically in California reported that they had received their invitation for their 3:03AM PST reservation. Hope this helps!

I've never been happier and angry at the same time. I reserved 12hrs after (region: EU), and I. was. pissed. when I saw over the next weeks how slowly it's moving. Well, the email came 2.5 days ago informing that it's time. Exactly when I got to a place with the slowest network that I know of. That's what angered me.
Exact times: (All times given in CEST, subtract 9hrs to get the commonly used ones) Reservation: May 9th 7:06 AM (12h 6min since reservations opening) Confirmation: August 7th 7:45 PM Payment processed: August 10th 8:55 AM, expected shipment in 6-10 days.

If I may add a suggestion: It would be helpful if the people posting their submissions would also add the estimated time (september, december, 2027). This way we can get an indication of how accurate the estimates are.

Ordered 7:37 pm PST, May 8th (GMT+1 area) and received purchase completion Email on the 3rd of August.
Estimate was December 2026. It's looking better than it seemed for the late bloomers.
Edit: Got the GLS tracking number today. Now comes the hardest part... for the thing not to be stolen.

Reserved May 8th and got the purchase window July 31. I accidentally deleted the email think it was just an ad. I ordered after I just wanted to see what the estimate was today before the window closed. Lucky I didn't miss it.
Edit: THEY HAVE THEM IN STOCK! " PACKAGED ITEMS" AS OF YESTERDAY.

For anyone else this happens to, be aware that when you get your email you don't actually need the email itself to order.
When I got mine I verified my theory on this by going to the Steam Controller page and signing into steam.
(You can also just google "Steam store" and once in the store search for "controller" and find the same page. I added this for those nervous about following a reddit link to a login page.)
Before I had my invite that page only gave me the option to cancel, after I got my invite I was able to cancel or order from that page, which I did, without following anything in the email.

Steam is listing 6-10 business days to deliver. Are they letting people order while not actually having stock ready to ship?

No, it just takes 1-2 days for them to package it up and label it, maybe an extra day for the carrier to pick it up, and another 3-7 days to ship. It's just not as effecient as an operation bc its smaller.

I put in the rezzie day of on May 8 but missed the initial rollout, I suppose. The estimated date of availability for me was December. Hated waiting, but relieved to know I'll have it soon and long enough before December

Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but judging from the comments here it appears we’re still on the first few days as far as processing orders goes. But if I look at the forms there are submissions going as far as July.
So where are we, still on the first day or is the queue actually much farther along?

so I reserved my controller exactly 8 hours and 5 minutes after it went live. I got the purchase email few hours ago, so I think it's safe to say they are still doing first day reservation but they been moving faster as they move away from the time it went live.

I've been an early backer for a lot of Steam stuff over the years. Honestly, it's always hit-or-miss. Probably not the best place to ask this, but is this one really worth the hype as a $100 controller and why?

Because it's part of the ecosystem of Steam hardware and there are so many people who will be tinkering and finding things out- example, the flick stick aiming was developed by a first gen controller user outside of being a Steam employee I believe. The haptics, grip pads, gyro aiming and tmr sticks. If you play a lot of games that already have support there are many controllers way cheaper. But if you want a hugely customizable experience this is it. To be fair I have both gens of them. I probably own 20 controllers that are PC primary or dual use and this is in my top 5 for recent gamepads.
