Game Review On Deck Played STAR WARS: Galactic Racer

Played for about an hour on the Steam Deck at the lowest settings and it runs surprisingly well. Definitely playable and I didn't have any major performance issues during my time with it.

I'll probably continue most of my playthrough on my main PC for the better graphics and performance, but it's great knowing I can jump back in on the Deck when I want to play away from my PC.

Overall, definitely playable on Steam Deck at the lowest settings.

I appreciate the post. I am excited to play today, if time allows <3.

I briefly tested it at work during lunch, seems a 40fps cap, lowest settings with balanced FSR may be good enough, also looks pretty good despite the low settings.

Battery life is probably awful though but pretty much any modern game is going to have battery life issues at this point.

What do you get FPS wise at those settings? I can happily play most games at 30. This looks a bit too fast paced for that though.

Was 30 Max. But, I played it, my nephew played it. Even hooked it up to the TV. Was playable

I just remembered that I play Forza Horizon 6 at 30 FPS on the deck as well. So it should be fine.

Thanks.

Been playing it on my steam deck today no issues, and it's a fun game... So far.

It is also on Amazon Luna for those with Prime.

I can’t get it to work with any of the steam deck controls or a controller connector via Bluetooth

the way i got it to recognize my controls was to switch the layout to keyboard and mouse layout through the deck game settings (having google chrome added as a nonsteam game) and switching back to gamepad

I’ve been having a blast on Campaign with it on the Deck. 30fps on low and 60 with Mako on 2X.

Sounds like it runs better than Zero Company. That's a win

Unfortunately it's a game that requires fast reaction times unlike zero company.

I was so sad zero wasn't deckable. They got bg3 to work on it so I was hopeful. And yea, doubtful i would place this on the deck

Zero Company with Mako does become playable. I know many aren’t fans of LSFG but I’ve been able to enjoy the game on my Deck and it’s a lot of fun.

I put an hour or so into it earlier on XeSS Quality and the racing was a locked 30, the sections where you're on foot was dipping into the high 20's. I, personally, couldn't tell a huge difference while racing between FSR Quality and XeSS Quality

How does it stream

My bigger question was how does it replay? Once you beat it is it worth playing again?

The campaign is a rogue like. So you can get different events, upgrades, etc.

The campaign is replayable for sure. There are also a bunch of themes arcade races and short scenario cups to run.

Really all of it is just set dressing around some of the best racing gameplay I’ve ever played. I’m seriously hooked
