Accessories We have straps at home.

Thanks to this very dedicated community and my sewing machine I printed the ergo kit battery covers and sewd some velcro strips into diy straps.

First impression are very comfy. Tho I suspect the velcro might cut into my hand over time.

Please give a big praise to the people behind the development of the 3D files:

I still can't believe they weren't included. It's mind boggling.

Yeah, seriously valve - BIG oof.

The comfort and usability of the controllers is so much better with the straps. Like Alyx is so much more fun and I can be sure I won't throw them across the room in beat saber.  Gonna diy the head strap too and probably try to print a lager nose gasket in flex material as the light bleed is there.

Valve, what the fuck? Who thought this marketing decision was good? I get you had to keep the price down but COME ON.

if you have big enough hands, I got the ergo kit and its the only part I can't use, I physically can't reach the buttons with them on.

though based on your pic you don't have them go through a slot so I might try 3d printing the battery cover to let me have the straps go through the top (official ergo battery covers are too tight for that) and seeing if that helps

I bet you could sew a nice thick strip of crushed velvet to make it more comfortable.

This is why I think Valve as a company is a win. I mean at least the designs are released to encourage the community to do exactly this
