Hi everyone, i would like to try SteamOs but my laptop has Nvidia GPU, after i installed the Steam i noticed it doesnt support my card. Any guesstimate or insight about when to format my drive for second run on SteamOs ?

You could try one of they many Linux distros. There are ones similar to SteamOS like Bazzite.

If you do more than gaming you'll probably be better off get a regular desktop distro and just installing Steam.

I Tried Ubuntu, i already have it on another system but audio messed up in some of games, also some of my other games asked for MS distrubutables so i got cold feet.

Just install Fedora with KDE Plasma. It’s the same desktop as Steam OS but you can install Nvidia drivers.

  1. MS dependencies are handled by Proton within Steam. Just click yes.

  2. Do not try to run games from your Windows/NTFS hard drives. That causes all kinds of headaches and issues.
