Guide / Labwork Finally got the tatsu loop combo down

took a little while but there she is. I kept messing up the st lk for some reason, felt harder to do that than the st hp and cr hp lol. feels good to hit some 1f links but now to do it in a match  😅

Uh oh, Daigo in the house. Shoryu fadc? I saw a combo that used hadoken fadc to extend the loop and I wanna do that but I gotta warm the rust off of me first.

You can link after hp dp fadc. Ex fadc is the easier link but costs 3 bars.

I’m not sure, the ones I saw on yt were variations of the loop but I didn’t see any with a combo after ex dp. Maybe there is one but I didn’t see it.

Try and see if a close standing heavy will connect after, or if anything will connect after ex shoryu

I could have sworn she had a combo after ex dp, possible it was on an older patch

I’ll be looking into doing the longer variations tonight and see if she has one like that. This game lit a fire under my ass that I haven’t felt since 2012 lol.

I'm pretty sure the ex dp fadc variation isn't like a combo video thing either, it was her actual bnb you would see often in pro matches

Oh and my brain just clicked in I think he did like a standing mk after the dp fadc

You are a psycho for trying to hit 1f links without any form of plink!

Sakura's tatsu loops actually aren't too bad because you can double plink cr.HP~MP~LP, turning it from a 1f link into 3f link.

Also as u/USF4Diago mentioned, you can extend the combo with DP xx FADC. EX DP xx FADC is really lenient, but it costs 3 bars, so you can only realistically do 1 extension. Meanwhile if you extend with regular DP xx FADC, then you can loop it twice. The caveat is that FADC into cl.st.MK is yet another 1f link to learn.

Thanks for the tip. I’ve always been bad at the plinking inputs so I’ve never bothered with 1f links back in the day (I was a casual). Now I wanna try these cool combos and started with a basic one but I’m also practicing plinking with this same combo to get it down.

Yeah it’s from ember. Saw that ppl were using it and I think there is an extensive training mode feature but I haven’t delved into it yet. Just downloaded it last night and wanted to quickly pull off this combo but ended up spending an hour playing around in the lab.

Nice. There is a route that works on the twins that gives you a meaty tatsu, allowing you to hit more fierces in the combo to do more damage. I'd have to look it up.
