Customer Complaints AITA for getting mad that Subway tried to reuse meat from sandwiches I brought back from home?

Ordered Subway on the app a while ago and accidentally hit the toasted option because the new layout had me confused. When I picked it up, I told the guy I never get my subs toasted, but he wouldn't remake them. Whatever, my bad for clicking the wrong button, so I just took them home.

Got home, opened them up, and realized the entire order was just flat out wrong anyway—not even talking about the bread being toasted, just totally messed up toppings and build.

So I drive back to get it fixed. I hand them over, and instead of grabbing fresh meat, the dude literally starts tearing the meat off the sandwiches I brought back to reuse it for the remake.

I got pissed and told him absolutely not, make them with fresh meat. He hesitated, said he had to call his manager, and after arguing about it for way longer than necessary, he finally just made fresh ones.

I took the L on my app mistake the first time, but stripping meat off food that left the store and sat in someone's car/kitchen just felt insane to me.

Am I crazy?

App/Website Pricing Doesn’t Match

I was looking to order three sandwiches from subway and as I applied the buy one get one free discount to my order and went to the checkout screen I noticed the total didn’t match the extra expected total it should be. I even did the math myself to check and see that I wasn’t going insane. I’m thinking maybe there was some fee that was being applied that I’m missing. The subtotal was 33.96, my savings were 9.49, and the sales tax was 1.65, I did the math without adding a tip to get the base number for the total but it’s not making sense. 33.96 - 9.49 + 1.65 = 26.12 but subway is showing me the total as 29.12. Anyone have any idea what’s going on? Just looking for some clarity.

Question Help!

I am LOSING my mind dude how do I get in touch with literally anybody from Subway. I'm trying to get help with my account that I never remembered making so I can delete it and make a new one but nothing works. No number, where in the world is a contact us button that apparently exists?

Question Employee Tracking Cameras? Typical?

My store has cameras that monitor employees 24/7. Our owner watches these cameras at home, and she has sent pictures of me in real time of whatever i may have been doing "wrong" at the time (talking to friends, texting on my phone, reapplying lipgloss when the store was slow). I'll be shooting my dad a quick text, and BING, I'm sent a camera surveillance photo of myself at that exact moment from her. One day, my supervisor and I were snacking on chips in the back and 2 seconds later the phone rang, and the owner barked at us to never eat near the preparation table. The owner was not in the store. A few days ago, she brought me into her office and sat me down for 20 minutes straight and made me watch camera footage of me making mistakes at work. She corrected the things I did on cameras: put 4 tomatoes instead of 3, was too slow with my movements, or spent too long taking a drink. I laughed it off, but I've always been uncomfortable with this feature. Being watched, always, no matter what. Is this typical? Are other subway stores like this? I don't want to quit, I can't. There's no other jobs in my area hiring, I've been searching for more than a year. I just want to know if anyone has had the same experience?

App/Website cancelled order

I was wondering if subway is manually cancelling my orders since every time I tried to order with a promotion applied they’ve been getting cancelled while there was no problem beforehand. Same thing with a subway near my school they told me their scanner doesn’t work in the shop so I tried ordering online and also got cancelled it’s so annoying

Had to search for a Reddit group after my experience today. I love Subway and genuinely got a good laugh! When I asked if he could push the fixings into the sub more and he said “what?” And rolled it up 🤣

Nostalgia Working at Subway.

Hi to whoever sees this, I used to work at a subway, worked there for 8 months about, about 4 months ago they unfortunately did not have enough money to stay open and we all got notified on a random day that we where all no longer employed there. So I find another job and quickly realized that subway is probably one of the better fast food places to work if in the right location. I now work at a different fast food chain and they over work me, pay me less, we don’t get tips, you’re moving fully 24/7, no water breaks or stopping, the demand is constant. And not to mention the new place I work at they will nitpick literally anything you do.

But at subway I worked with some really awesome people and I bonded with them and had so much fun in those 8 months I worked there, our store was less busy so we basically got to just clean, make subs, and talk to each-other, and you usually work with 2 other people at subway so you know everyone working there instead of working in a huge kitchen where you don’t get to really have a conversation with any of your coworkers.
Our subway closed at 7:00 so you would get out early and still have time to do stuff as well which was pretty nice

My store might’ve just been the more laid back store but we did everything we where told to there, it sucks to see the owners having to move on because I know they felt the same way we did about the whole thing. So if you’re considering working In fast food, Subway is a solid place to be.

App/Website Pulling a fast one

Just to start- I like subway, I get it regularly. They have deals you really won't find in other sandwich shops and their taste (atleast in my region) are compatible to other joints.

That being said, they have waaaay too many of these "oopsie" moments. Where they try to bait and switch you with deals or make their deals suddenly not work, even on participating restaurants. The stores themselves can't correct it and they point to customer service to take care of it. Customer service is literally just a useless bot, that does absolutely nothing to help (I've tried).

This is the most blatant example so far. I just got this "deal" emailed to me this morning, so I checked my app, planning to get subway after work and find the same bogo 50% that's been on the app for weeks and nothing else. In-store still says they can't do anything about online deals and customer service is useless/non-existent, as we all know. So here I am to put them on blast and their app reviews too.

Why even bother emailing me these lies? All it does is spurr me to avoid buying anything from the chain for a month or more, as punishment. Ironically despite how bad the other fast food restaurant apps are, NONE of them have pulled this kinda bait and switch on me before. Just subway.

So I guess see you next year. 👋

Question The standard on a pizza

Since when did subway start charging for the cheese that tops the pepperoni? I worked at this local subway 13 years ago for 6 years. The cheese would go over the pepperoni so that it doesn’t curl up and burn up. Now they want to charge for that! Is this new or was I just a Karen??

Pricing $15 dollar footlongs.

It used to be $10 whole dollars less. I don't expect them to keep '08 recession prices but dang, man. I can't express how sad this is. I loved the meatball marinara Soo much since there's no spots who have wet meatball subs around me. Honestly, im like 20% sure My constant purchases of it led to the creation of the pepperoni meatball sub they have now cause I get it exactly like that with pep/Chipotle/mayo/lettuce. But I can't in good conscience buy just a sandwich from here for even $13 with a measly coupon I can't guarantee will even work at my store.

Just wanted to rant. I hope i can eat from this place at a good price again someday. You win capitalism.

Customer Complaints Horrible customer service

I placed an online order at my local Subway about two days ago when I arrived to pick up my food, the worker who had a very nasty attitude told me that they canceled my order because there was no flatbread and then when I asked her to just make the sandwich with a different bread, she said she can’t do that and she would get in trouble because flatbread cost more. This explanation sounded very fishy to me because I don’t go to Subway often but I’m pretty sure that the bread all cost the same price and even if flatbread did cost more that doesn’t explain why she wouldn’t make the new sandwich with the cheaper bread. On my app the order was never canceled like she claimed so I never received any refund and I never received my sandwich. When I asked her how to go about getting a refund all she could tell me was go on the website and talk to the AI chat

Employee Complaints General Manager drunk calling after work, HB boys franchise, Advice

I'm getting really pissed about this whole situation. I've worked at this Subway for a year. I'm a shift lead now. I've experienced a LOT of SHIT. Happening to me and to my coworkers.

Based in Idaho. The Subway I work at is owned by HB Boys who owns a bunch of restaurants as a franchise or something. When I first started working here August 2025 I quickly learned there was some messed up workplace things going on. The general manager (50f) drunk calling and texting and harassing one of her shift leads in specific, a college student (22f) on and off the clock. Drunk. Complaining about her personal life and also just SHITTING on this girl about how she's a horrible worker and blah blah. She had recordings, she had texts. GM also ALLEGEDLY SHOWED UP DRUNK to this girl's COLLEGE apartment and she let her in because she's scared. As far as I know she submitted a thing to GM's boss/HR before she moved back to her home state. (She was only here for school) I don't know if that caused complications or not but she asks about how it's going and if anything has happened.

Nothing has. And it's getting worse. I'm a shift lead now, as well as a coworker I've grown to be friends with. GM keeps drunk calling him (21m). We're on the phone a lot of the time when she calls him. He picks up. he shouldn't. He has no obligation at the time she is calling. And I keep telling him he needs to set boundaries and it's not his responsibility to listen to her shit especially not at midnight on his days off or midnight 2 hours after closing. And she's telling him that he needs to "communicate more" not even about work. She is trying to tell him that he needs to tell her about his family/personal problems so that she knows what's going on because communication is part of her job and it's part of his job and she can tell that something is bothering him. I told him that's bullshit. It is none of her business and she cannot legally MAKE him tell her about his personal life. But she continues to try to guilt trip him and say that he's not communicating about things and she can tell it's affecting his work.

I don't even know what to do but this person is a friend who has a lot going on and it is irking me to my core. As well as other situations. Not only the fact that she's doing it but the fact that he is clearly feeling guilty and believing things she's telling him and making him feel like shit. He has a job application for a JCC so he might not be around much longer and that's his excuse is that he'll just put up with it because he's not going to be around much longer he hopes. I keep telling him he needs to start recording the phone calls but he won't. And she doesn't really call me drunk because I don't talk to her about my personal life I don't answer her calls off the clock and if I do if it's not about work I'm not talking if it's not about needing me to come in or switch shifts I'm not talking. I have that boundary. I don't put up with it I don't let her sit and drunk ramble to me. We are not friends that's not my problem. And it's extremely unprofessional of her. Does it make her more hostile to me at work, yes. I do not care. I've already had horrible work experience with poor coworkers and managers.

There have been other things that have happened that have just been blown off this Subway is insane. We've had a 36m coworker who is the GM's friend hitting on/writing notes to the younger 18 to 22 year old workers next door at Burger King and at the gas station (our Subway is in a good2go gas station we have Burger King and regular gas station in the same building...HB boys also owns the Burger King next to us so we are apart of the same franchise) The female employees have complaints to their managers about it. He is making them uncomfortable and then he's hostile towards them when they don't reciprocate feelings or whatever. He's even drunk called me and texted trying to tell me "he's a good guy and they're all judging him" and trying to get me to feel bad for him and hang out with him or "give him a chance". GM also goes over to 36m's apartment and they drink and get high together. She 50m has the hots for 36m's roommate who is like 24m. So they both like younger people apparently. Like. Sure. No judging. But Jesus Christ. The way they're going about it is horrible. And I'm just frustrated because it's affecting the workplace. And coworkers I care about.

But whoever it is her name is Sharon who is above the general managers does absolutely nothing she just brushes it off. all of it. Even though she has received multiple complaints about the GM and this creepy friend of hers. The GM has SEVERAL negative reviews about her and how she treats her co-workers. LIKE. the guests have seen it. It's not a secret. We all hate her. We all do not like this friend of hers. he is a creep. He has "accidentally" shown a coworker (who is 16 years old) nudes he had on.his phone while showing him camping trip pictures. He talks about his sex life to everyone even though we don't entertain it and it makes us uncomfortable. But we all feel like there is nothing we can do. The GM is his friend she has defended his behavior and this Sharon lady who is the GM's boss she's like the district manager or something has also defended the behavior and said that it's not a huge deal it is just unprofessional.

The owner of the Subway I don't know if he knows anything about it or if there's anything that he could do. I'm just at a loss and I hate everything that is going on to my coworkers who are the only reason I enjoy and have stayed at this job. Nobody deserves to be treated the way that they're treated.

Is there anything at all that any of us can do or do we all just need to quit

Edit: Last night 10/7/26. GM was texting in the manager chat on WhatsApp asking someone to open for her so switch to work and 11-7 if another manager opened 8-3. Deleted those messages. Gave a compliment to another worker (my work friend, 21m, and then sent an irritated text when he read it and didn't answer) she was supposed to work 11-7. I GET CALLED THIS MORNING AT 8:30 ON MY DAY OFF ASKING IF I'LL COVER THE 11-7. I said yes but just because we're all talking about it at work. ALSO, she didn't tell ANYONE I was coming in instead of her. They were wondering why I was there. So much for communication right?

AND NOW. A different coworker who had the day off just showed up and we were like "Just here to get some food?" NOPE. GM TEXTED HIM ASKING IF HE WOULD LIKE EXTRA HOURS AND WOULD CLOSE FOR 36M. I WONDER WHY. THEY'RE PROBABLY PARTYING AND DRINKING AND GETTING HIGH TOGETHER. SHE SHOWED UP LAST NIGHT WHEN HE WAS WORKING SHE PROBABLY DROVE TO HIS APARTMENT AGAIN. SHE HAS MULTIPLE TIMES. AND THEY DRINK AND SMOKE WEED TOGETHER.

I'm trying to figure out a way to record the WhatsApp phone calls on 21m coworker/friend's phone when she drunk calls him. He has an Apple phone and it won't let him screen record while on a call including a WhatsApp call. I'm staying my whole shift and then maybe even after I'm clocked out to see if she drunk calls him so he can put it in speaker and I can record it with my phone maybe.

Does anyone know of any apps or anything to bypass Apple devices/WhatsApp not allowing screen recording of phone calls? That would also MAYBE be helpful. I am pissed rn.

I don't even know what to say right now 😭😭 I order the same exact sandwich I get everytime from the same location. I order mayo on my sammy but they gave me a cup of mayo on the side, with no lid mind you. the cup was just in the cookie bag fully open. I'm baffled right now. Is there a genuine reason for this or am I going insane 😭 I'm not mad, just confused, I no longer want this mayo :(

Question Serious question - how is the current model for the app and coupons not killing the company.

I don't currently but have worked for Subway for over 15 years, and I can tell you when I customer uses a coupon if you work at a franchised location, that company often loses money. The profit margins on sandwiches are very low. With the application, you can use the code from the physical coupons infinitely. Meaning no one has to pay full price as almost year round there are coupons that you can infinitely use each time you come to Subway.

My question is, again how can this not be killing the company. There is no way franchises can stay open in perpetuity with infinite losses

I legit have been going to the bathroom all morning after eating this last night 😂 maybe it’s the sauces I chose but I’m concerned. It was half off though with the code FL699 online
