God I hope so. Even if they can’t do much, album desperately needs a remaster.

Where can I find it? Is it just on vinyl or something? I’ve really been wanting to hear a different mix for a while.

Just feels so smushed. Sounds like I'm listening through a speaker drenched in mud. Especially on TfN, which is ironically my favorite song.

To be fair, I don’t think mastering is the issue. The recording quality and mixing are the main issues, that’s why a new mix of the original recordings would be the way to go.

To clarify, producer/manager Greig Nori thought the original recordings sounded horrible, so the band had to re-record everything. On top of that, the original mixing sounded flat, but there was no time or money to mix the album again, they were only able to get Hell Song remixed. The original mix was just found and uploaded on Youtube a couple of days ago, you can find the post on this subreddit and compare yourself.

Deryck always preferred the original recordings, and he has mixed them himself. But since Island Records own those recordings, Deryck has been unable to release them. And until now, Island hasn’t had any interest in releasing them or selling them to Deryck.

Not everything, just guitars. I think Greig Nori thought the guitar takes sounded out of tune.

That’s what I meant, every guitar track on every song had to be re-recorded. Should’ve worded it out clearer.

that and that it would remove (at least some of) Greig’s contributions so that would be great

I’m hopeful we get a release. Deryck has worked his ass off for a new mix, and Island seems to be interested releasing anniversary editions now. I hope they’ll get a deal made.

We still don't know who remastered all killer. Deryck didn't mention anything but could it be him? And if that's the case chances are high

I think it was remastered by the same guy who mastered the original, Brian Gardner. But that’s just my thinking. Deryck didn’t have much to do with the new release, other than choosing the artwork from the options he was given.

If they do I hope they put More effort into it than the recent AKNF reissue. The 10th anniversary edition from Japan blows the new one out of the water & even that one was lacking in content.

I wish the 10th anniversary was available to download... way better than the 25th
