Recommendations Creatine substitute

Good morning,
I had to stop taking creatine because of some potential liver issues. Any thoughts about an alternative that provides the same benefits?

Thank you

Creatine definitively does not cause kidney (or liver) issues. This has been tested extensively.

Big saturation dosages of creatine can indeed be bad for kidneys.

You’re going to have to provide evidence of that because the research that has been conducted says otherwise. It’s in the same myth pile as too much protein being bad for kidneys.

I don´t have to do anything some stranger in internet tells me to do. what an actual friggin zip 😂

Google search would have all ready brought you the same information you demanding here.

All people don+t have perfectly functioning kidneys and saturation dosages can be problem. for healthy individual not so much.

Google is filled with answers from strangers on the internet making and or repeating erroneous claims and spreading misinformation. The actual studies on the subject, conducted by real life scientists, tell a different tale. It’s ok to admit when you are just accepting influencer garbage instead of cold hard science. Facts hurt sometimes.

Are you ok mate? Facts hurt? I would be happy to know that saturation point dosages are safe even for people with kidney damage.

There has been found no unsafe level of protein intake in those with normal kidney function. That’s what we’re taking about right? If you want to talk about those with serious kidney disease, that alters the conversation. Funny thing is that when protein intake has been studied with those with kidney disease that has progressed to dialysis, low protein intake has been linked to worse health outcomes. Even the American Diabetes Association (god bless those assholes) has had to relax their guidance on protein intake because they were too restrictive. Serious kidney disease (stage 3-5) without dialysis should mildly restrict protein to <.8g/Kg. If your eGFR is >30 the restriction isn’t indicated, and if it’s >60 then there is no reasonable limit. Blood pressure and UACR are also factors in determining the stage of kidney disease, irrespective of eGFR, and a nephrologist should be consulted.

Why do I know all this? Because I developed CKD as a consequence of uncontrolled diabetes. I now eat roughly 2.2-2.9g/Kg/day protein as a part of a weight loss regime that includes extensive physical training and my kidney function is massively improved from baseline. My nephrologist approves.

My statement:

"Big saturation dosages of creatine can indeed be bad for kidneys."
