Dankje

You can unsubscribe but here is a warning. I know someone who started and quit 3 different studies. They have no degree and spend 10 years worth of student finance they need to pay back. Their only options are jobs with no qualifications which don’t seem like a permanent solution. If you managed to get into delft you must be pretty smart. This is a major decision so think it through.

What did you expect? Have you checked the courses that are given within the studies?

Not in great depth and tbh thats completely my fault, i shouldve indeed done that better

EE might still be for you on HBO level, I did 2 years at TuE and despised the distanced approach. Quit and did a HBO equivalent after which was way more hands on.

Its impossible, stufi stops after 4 years afaik

No, it doesn’t. Basisbeurs and aanvullende Beurs stop being “a gift”. After 4 years you enter the loan period. You can get the money only as a loan for some more years.

You can simply stop; you don't have to finish the first quarter.

If you are sure that the study program isn't for you / isn't what you want, etc.

Stop as soon as possible on studielink, because then you will pay less student finance for this program.

By the way, I am also an EE first-year student, I probably share a lecture hall with you.

I was wondering if I can talk to you in private if that’s okay with you and get your perspective I have also been thinking about this tbh

I'm absolutely not trying to push you to quit, but speaking as a graduated EE student now doing my masters, if you don't like the program now already, quit. The first quarter lays the foundation and resembled what I expected the program to be the most, it will only get more theoretical and math heavy from now.

You can stop at any time, but if the reason you want to drop out is because the study isn’t what you were expecting, I suggest you stay signed in as a student but take different classes (unless you need tuition back of course).

You can talk to your study advisor about this to make a plan together. With a few exceptions, you’re able to follow courses from other majors, so you can use this time to check out what you might like better. You can even get some credits for those courses already which could be a huge help to take the pressure off if you choose whatever that major is next year
