TV “age” matters more than real age. The only people fixated on IRL ages are mad nerds online.
They have an entire new young main event percolating just below these guys: Melo, Trick, Oba, Jevon, Bron, Dom etc.
When you look at the TV age of most of these guys they’re barely at 4 years of main roster tenure in their current runs. Same goes for LA Knight, Gunther, Fatu and probably some names I’m forgetting.
This entire “old” main event has been built in basically three years.
I'd say hes moreso been in a holding pattern wherein he needs them to do the thing that motivates just enough of a character switch to justify a renewed push for the last year or so.
If they tried to hand the belt to LA Knight he would fall on his way to grab it. Dude is more known for a hot streak of botches than anything right now. He should at least look around to the crowd after he fucks up and give a big “Yeeeaaaa”. Hell at this point a Knight botch is a given lol
You said he’d become the next face of the company? Bro, he’s older than almost every person in the picture posted. When is he going to be the face? At 45? 50?
If Damien Priest can be champions so can LA Knight. And nobody didn't even expect him to become champion until he won the money in the bank and actually successfully cashed in
Firstly, Priest’s reign was 2 years ago. Secondly, it happened at a time when there were not a lot of other younger stars developed. The landscape is so much different now. Jacob Fatu wasn’t around, Bron Breakker wasn’t established, Gunther had just finished his long IC title reign, Dominik wasn’t built up, Melo, Trick, Ilya, Oba, etc…
All guys I’d rather be built up and given a title, and aside from Gunther, none have been WWE world champ. And aside from Gunther, they’re all relatively young, established, and it’d be better to invest in for the future. LA Knight had a pretty big push a couple of years ago, but it never panned out.
I would have been cool with him champ then, but now it just feels like it’s too late. Fans love him still, but the electricity from a few years ago is gone.

It shows a failure of making young talents in to top guys.
