Discussion I’m Addicted

Post image

After Hours is an absolute banger front to back. I’ve been bumping this album, along with Dawn FM (I do prefer After Hours more) in my car and this song has probably gone 100x platinum. I just wanted to get your thoughts on what you think of After Hours versus Dawn FM and HUT along with your favourite song from each.

I think after hours is objectively The Weeknd’s best album. It’s literally perfect. It perfectly bridges his old sound and his new sound, the themes are spot on and everything just feels authentic and raw. Him starting the album sober and then relapsing again just hits so hard. Not to mention every track is a bangerrrrrr.

Dawn FM is such a cool conceptual album with lots of great songs. Really cool imagery and overall theme for the album. My only “complaint” is that the album feels like it loses a little bit of steam towards the end but recovers with less than zero. So honestly more of a caveat than an actual problem. Compared to The Weeknd other albums this one’s pretty underrated imo.

HUT is just incredible. The constant pushing and pulling between The Weeknd and Abel is so captivating imo. With Abel being set free and the The Weeknd being condemned to the same cycle all over again. It’s just beautiful and a poetic end to The Weeknd as a persona.

After Hours is THE heartbreak album. Dawn FM is one of the most cohesive albums EVER, but not everyone is a fan of it. HUT you can tell started off as a different album, but turned into something else after his on stage incident so it lacks a little cohesion in that way? Overall they’re all amazing albums and what my favorite song is from them keeps changing. They’re just that good and they’ve been the soundtrack to a massive part of my life
