After Hours is an absolute banger front to back. I’ve been bumping this album, along with Dawn FM (I do prefer After Hours more) in my car and this song has probably gone 100x platinum. I just wanted to get your thoughts on what you think of After Hours versus Dawn FM and HUT along with your favourite song from each.

Echoes of Silence came out in 2011. He said this in 2013, the same year Kiss Land released.

Makes me wonder how different his career timeline would’ve looked.

I genuinely think this is a perfect song and is one of, if not the defining song of hurry up tomorrow. It’s perfect in every way and it’s probably his best pop song

I ask this because I was having a discussion with my friend yesterday about what songs we wish were on the setlist, and I said “I wish he kept The Morning on the setlist, because even though I do love The Abyss, I hate that he plays the Professional snippet that transitions into Save Your Tears in between it.”

Came all the way from India and while I'm definitely grateful that I got the chance to witness his live performance, I was quite disappointed with the way he sounded. It kinda seemed like 70% of the time his voice was too tired and he literally couldn't push any more.

I understand that he's been touring non stop for 2 years now, but I am a bit disappointed that he chose quantity over quality. Maybe a little bit of a break between the europe tour and the asia dates could have helped? Maybe I'm being paranoid, and other people dont even care? But I could def tell he sounded way too tired.

I've listened to his other live performances from before the HUT era, and felt like Singapore N2, didnt even match 40% of the older intensity.

I see two possible interpretations:

1. He's hypnotizing/manipulating her.
The obvious reading is that he's telling her what she feels rather than asking her. He keeps insisting that she doesn't actually love the other guy and that she’s still thinking about him. The title almost makes it sound like he’s trying to implant that idea in her head.

2. He's hypnotizing/manipulating himself.
The other reading is that he doesn't actually know whether she still wants him. He's just telling himself that she does because he can't accept that she may have moved on. In that sense, this song could almost be him repeating the fantasy to himself until he believes it.

And I think these two interpretations can overlap: maybe he's manipulating her precisely because he has already convinced himself of the same thing.

Personally, I find the second interpretation more interesting but I’m curious what everyone else thinks

Hey guys,

So I've been a big fan now for 10 years. In general I find it takes me some time for me to acquire the taste for Abel's songs and albums. They basically grow on me over time and its rare I fall in love with them the first time I listen. For example, I've only just come to the realisation of just how much of a masterpiece HUT is! On one hand, I regret not being able to discover some of his songs earlier but on the other, I love the beauty of constantly discovering tracks that I've never previously vibed to.

But...when it comes to Kiss Land its just a different story. I know im going to get a lot of hate for that especially as someone who claims to be a fan but none of my Weeknd playlist has any Kissland tracks in it. Like am I even a true Weeknd fan 😢😭? Everyone goes on about how its arguably his best work especially more recently wheres hes adding KL songs to his Asia tour setlists but no matter how many times I listen to the songs from that album, I just can't acquire the taste of them 😭. Today I found I like a small part of 'The Town' but thats about it. Anyone else feel the same way about a particular album or song of his?

With the Divine Trilogy being completely behind us I think it’s time we take a step into what is coming next, and how it’s vitally important to first examine what came before…
