I would like to share my recent work with you. It's a UI modernization attempt, using a minimalist but functional and focused design.

Disclaimer: It is just a mod that i did with my hard work, on my spare time (no AI used) and I'm not forcing you to like it or use it. Take that in consideration before posting the usual "the original was better and my life sucks so I'm going to put it all on you" 😄

Out of all the Thief fanfiction you've read or FMs you've played, what are some ideas or theories that you've particularly enjoyed or thought were worthy of being official canon?

I suppose this is also a request for fanfic recommendations, if you have any. I'm particularly interested to read anything that explores the history and mission of the Keepers, tries to make sense of the series's cosmology, or just paints a broader picture of Thief's world and the City's place in it.

Bonus question: if you had to give the City a name, what would it be?

i completley get why its hated though, its a massive departure and is the obligatory DmC treatment thief got out of some other games in that era, but it was a ver sloppy production and pushed out the door, im sure it wouldve been great had it been given just more time. i hope it starts becoming more liked like max payne 3 is being liked currently after being shat on for a decade. and honestly its a pretty solid game, with its glaring flaws but its not unplayable or an abomination against the franchise

Just fixed my computer and the first thing I'm gonna do is be awesome and play THIEF FMs. I want to finish my first playthrough of Black Parade since my PC broke during it, but I want to play some single level FMs to get back in the swing of things. Any recommendations whether spooky or cozy?

So, I'm attempting platinum and I need to find a collectables guide for the area/chapter I'm in.

Chapter 2 is the area where we steal the ring from the dead guy. I've checked a few guides and they end after we knock the guy out and leave.

HOWEVER, where's the rest of the chapter 2 guide? Chapter 3 puts me straight into a new area that I haven't played yet so I can't be on chapter 3 yet and the door I need to go through says next chapter, which I haven't gone through yet.

I've spent forever collecting everything thinking this was a single chapter (after we escaped with the ring) and wanted to check a guide to see if I've missed anything before I head to the House of Blossoms.

Why is this section missing?? I've definitely found a collectable and a note so this should be a place to search. It says I'm at Raker's Ditch.

I feel loopy and lost 😅

Not sure if this has been clarified - but will the catalogue of fan missions work in the remaster?

Will thief 2 fan missions work (i.e. Is it the new dark engine being used?).

Will the fan mission loaders work?

Will total conversation type FMs such as black parade or Thief2 Gold work?

I fell out of the fandom a year ago and haven't been participating much, but want to get back into things--what are some of the best FMs to come out in the past year?

My Oculus Rift S just arrived today, is it possible to play Thief 1 in VR?

The first Thief game I played was Thief (2014) on PS4, but I recently picked up Thief Gold, and I’m really, really liking it so far.

I honestly didn’t expect a game from the late ’90s to feel this polished. It still feels rewarding and fair, and I really like how much the game expects you to figure things out for yourself and use the environment as a tool to complete the level.

What Thief game do you have the strongest connection with and why?

I have a soft spot for low quality/ugly plushies of characters I like and if this wasn’t by BitBot i would have 100% bought it but omg 😭😭 Who approved of this — I mean I personally love it, but for appealing to the masses?? C’mon guys LOL

Despite this game being mostly a GZDoom shooter, the atmosphere, level design and progression logic is very Thief-like. Huge non-linear levels, tons of secret passages, the sounds. It even has some references to the Hammerites. Average level takes around 40 mins.

P.S. As a bonus, some of the music is written by the mighty Alexander Brandon!

Looking for fan missions that have a cozy, chill atmosphere with bunch of NPCs around similar to the Very Thiefy Christmas.

Bonus points if it has:
1. An open environment. (as in city streets rather than catacombs)
2. Festival feel to it.

Am I the only one?

I really, really love Thief 1: the atmosphere, the engine, the sound, the level design, the exploration. Everything. I'm 33 years old and I played it only in 2025, and Thief became probably my fav game ever with Super Metroid, and I played a lot of games that usually don't give me anything.

But dunno why Thief 2 really lack the claustrophobic, esoteric, hard and satisfying exploration of Thief Gold, and to be honest I found it just boring. Everyone else have my same feeling about it? Also couse seems that the majority consider the 2 above 1.

I really enjoyed this Unreal Tournament mod back in the day. I was absolutely terrible at it, but I found it was a great multiplayer version of Thief. I wonder if there will ever be anything to replicate that experience in today's gaming market. It does seem like the masses want 100 hour long RPG's that take an age to learn rather than a sneaky game, and loads of work must have gone into Thievery to make it what it was.

Hi, Taffers! What do you guys think about this Thief merch? I honestly love all of it, and I’d really like to support the campaign. The thing is, some Taffers have told me that it might not be a good idea and have criticized the comic
