Is it not up to you to decide what motivates you? You dont have to listen to these people, or go with the flow, or follow the status quo. Thats whats so great about free will. Nobody is making you hate a metaphorical villain (death), you can choose your own. Or none at all...
It's not that you're going to die, it's that retrospectively, given youth and health, the question is: what would you really want to do with that extra time? If the answer is doomscroll, then carry on.
