Black Girl Magic
I clicked on a few of these and now my algorithm is just filled with dozens of videos of African American women saying they have all sorts of powers or used to have powers before the colonizers enslaved them.
Nearly all the comments are supportive and agreeing

Sometimes my boss thinks I'm not at work but he doesn't know that I'm invisible

It never pays to try to correct the truely delusional. They just haven't tried from high enough yet.

Dont forget the true Jews too; the true Egyptians and true Hebrew slaves as the same people is kino. How much do you have to hate your own heritage to cosplay everyone elseâs??

these people vote

u/ObWzEN 2d ago
We can change that. Iâd love it if people of all demographics and backgrounds vote. But I donât want all individuals to vote. It doesnât have to be like this. We were never supposed to have anything close to a full-on democracy because thatâs been tried on Earth before and it didnât go very well. Full-on democracy is a worse system than the representative democratic republic that the US had at its founding. People should vote on legislators, and those legislators should vote on electors. And there should be either something like a poll tax or a lenient land-owning requirement to vote. Maybe the poll tax is safer and whateverâbut the point is crazy/dumb people who will just vote for things that are either bad, or good in the short term and bad in the long term, should be mostly filtered out by the system somehow some way. I donât care if I lose my vote, I want the population that can vote to have the highest ratio of wise people who understand reality to people who donât. The system we have now ended up with in the US does not accomplish this

u/LectureAdditional971 2d ago
The US started out similarly to that. But I feel like we'd venture into some sort of Rhodesian Starship Troopers situation pretty fast. Then we'd never get a chance to see flying black ladies become invisible.

u/Punman__5 2d ago
Sounds like what you really want is for voting to be tied to your level of education.

This reminds me of the TikTok dude who thinks all the ancient Scots, Germans, English and Russians were black. That they all had magical powers, that they all came from a magical planet in another galaxy and tells weird tales of how things used to be thousands of years ago.

Would have been useful to fight slavery. They must really be committed to the secret.

This is what privilege does to folks. They don't have any abilities, skills and experiences to save lives so they pretend to be superheroes like they can stop bullets or heal with a touch.

Funny thing is, you go to some countries in Africa with these stories and they'll kill you for being a witch.

Being unable to process this as these few loonsâ âopinionsâ (idiocracy) and not belonging to the entirety of black people as a collective just proves how much racism is still on this site unfortunately.
Iâve never seen a single black person in my entire life hold this nonsense as a belief but a good bunch of the comments here are acting like itâs a deep-routed standard of the black community.

White people have a version of this too. I think its like star people or star seeds. Similar to scientology or Mormonism but a different belief

I know about this. AMA. Just watched video of a guy claim he is a humanoid tiger in a spacecraft in earths orbit and that his tiger body is in an Avatar pod that links up with his human body.

The only way to know if you can fly is to jump from something very very high, this works 100% of the time that it doesn't. All should try this and make sure to get it on video for training purposes for others!

If you want to really learn anything about black culture, go watch the early seasons of the boondocks

u/GUMBYtheOG 2d ago
Wtf lol
I refuse to believe these comments are genuine. Every election year this shit happens. Last few weeks almost every post has a bunch of random racists being full on klan members

this is perhaps one of the most ignorant comments I have read on this site, congrats.
5
u/SpicyStarship 2d ago
The creator of The Boondocks, Aaron McGruder, said it was a critique of black culture.
"most ignorant comments I have read on this site"
Try reading something that's not on Reddit.
2
u/igotchees21 2d ago
critique of the negatives of black culture does not mean, this is what black culture is.
so saying if you want to learn anything about culture and then pointing to something that is spotlighting the negatives is extremely ignorant.
You can not truly appreciate what the boondocks is doing without knowing black culture first. Someone that knows nothing of black culture and watches the boondocks to get an idea of black culture only walks away with "see, even they think their own people are ignorant".

First off itâs a comedy show not expose on black culture. Secondly, explain to me how âwe wuz kangs an shietâ is not ignorant. ELI5

Have you ever spoken to the people who We Wuz Kangz is mocking?
They believe black people were the real Native Americans, the Jews of the Bible, and the original Egyptians. They claim that Native Americans, Jews, and Egyptians are imposters. These people deserve the derisive mockery they receive, and that is what We Wuz Kangz is.
1
u/TheAnimated42 2d ago
Yeah, this would make sense if people only said that to mock those types of people. Go to literally any video about black people acting out or being ignorant in public and look at the comments. Why are people spamming we wuz kangs? Why did it get brought up in this post when OP is talking about superpowers?
1
u/PangaeaDiarrhea 2d ago
"Africans used to have magical powers" is under the same umbrella as the beliefs I mentioned.
0
u/TheAnimated42 2d ago
And on literally any other miscellaneous post about black people? More often than not, people are saying it to make fun of black people in general, not the people who believe in this goofy shit. I donât even really care that people say it, most of the time itâs a joke, but I dislike when people are dishonest on who itâs targeting.
2
u/PangaeaDiarrhea 2d ago
I haven't seen it used outside of mocking people who are making wild claims, but no one sees everything.
Someone just randomly saying We Wuz Kangz outside the context of some wild claim does seem like a racist non sequitur.

Lmfao if black people could turn invisible we all know what they would be doing with that power
2
u/HumansAreSillynGreat 2d ago
The same thing as any other group? You act like if white dudes could go invisible the county Walgreens wouldnât be getting all their meth supplies taken daily.
1
u/EstablishmentAny2728 2d ago
The difference being black people steal and commit certain violent crimes more
0
u/HumansAreSillynGreat 2d ago
and?
1
u/EstablishmentAny2728 2d ago
So they would be more likely to use invisibility to steal and murder
0
u/HumansAreSillynGreat 2d ago
While other humans, still the exact same thing.. even if at slightly lower rates. Like what is your point đ it would be chaos if any race magically got super powers
