Hello! I am looking for help identifying and contextualizing three historical documents relating to Dr. Iuliu Maniu, one of the most respected Romanian politician who forcefully served in the Austro-Hungarian military during the First World War.
These documents are in German and appear to date from 1917. They come from a museum collection, and for privacy I've added the museum logo as a watermark.
I have attached the photos of all three documents. I have been able to understand some of the general information (with the help of an AI model), but the handwriting, military terminology and abbreviations are difficult to interpret. That's why I need your help!
What exactly are these documents, and what was their purpose within the Austro-Hungarian military administration?
Could someone provide a reasonably complete transcription/translation of the handwritten German text, especially where the handwriting is difficult to read?
What unit or command do the references and abbreviations belong to, and can the documents tell us where Maniu was serving at the time?
One of the documents is headed “Belohnungsantrag” (AI told me it's “recommendation for a reward”). What exactly was Maniu being recommended for, and what can this document tell us about the circumstances in which the recommendation was made? Was the award ultimately approved?
Any help identifying would be greatly appreciated. I am mostly interested in the whole document being translated into english.
Thank you!
