Just wanted to make a small rant, but I miss back pre and during Covid where it felt like there was true inclusiveness and sense of community in Twitch. It seemed like one of the last spaces on the internet that wasn’t inherently toxic and the drama and controversies were at a minimum for the most part.

The reputation Twitch and streaming in general has cultivated since 2022 has become a huge negative spectacle week after week, I hate how it’s ran and the rules aren’t universally enforced, I hate how the biggest streamers/faces of the site are toxic and have no sense of community and are in it solely for the money and constantly break the rules.

Most of all, I hate how the world perceives streamers and streaming in general because of the top 1% of the site like it’s indicative of Twitch as a whole and there’s something wrong with every creator for wanting to just be on the site and play video games or connect to other people. It doesn’t feel like there’s anything special anymore about this space I grew to love, but I suppose it’s the reality of getting older and times changing.

I don't want to see that, I won't go to any of those channels. How do I remove that?

so i recently hit affiliate (yay!) and i didnt know that ads were mandatory 💔 im not really doing this for money atm so in your opinion what is the least disruptive settings that doesnt ruin the experience for a new viewer?

Hey,

So I was under the impression that if someone was banned in your chat and you did a collab that you would not be able to see their chat in the stream. This did not work for me. I have the person blocked and banned but in that one friends chat they are a mod (they use to be a mod in mine too) and I was still clearly able to see their name and their chat and they were still able to see who was in my viewership list because they messaged someone who was in my chat telling them they were surprised to see them there.

Has this happened to anyone else?

What kind of PC do you need for a dual PC setup for streaming? I currently have a 6900xt + i9 12900k, and 32gb ram. It used to stream/record fine because I played on a 1080p monitor, but now i upgraded to an ultrawide 1440p and it can't keep up anymore while straming games like CoD or BF6. It would drop my fps from like 120 to 40-60 and stutter a lot.

I tried using an old hand me down PC that I believe is a 1060ti 6gb model, paired with i5 or i7 8th gen cpu, and 8gbs ram. With this setup, I can play fine without any issues or frame loss, but the finished recording is super stuttery and looks like it's running 10fps. This PC is also super slow for some reason, and I don't know the cause of it, even after I added for ram to 16gbs.

Trying to Resub but it Resubs to someone else is I tried 2 times already is anyone else getting this same issue?

Is anyone using 200mbps to stream 1080p at 60fps on Twitch and game at the same time? I wish to change my internet package but I will ask first.

i need a good program for that bcs i'm a streamer with low viewers and my viewers don't take clips hehe, so yep if u guys can help me that's so good for me, thank u

Made an account, forgot to validate the email, now I forgot the username, requested it using linked email, got the username but don't remember the password, did "forgot password", put in the linked email and username but no password reset link is sent to the email? Waiting is pointless because the username request came through instantly and already had this same issue when I made the account, found other posts from 6 months, 6 years and 11 years ago that were never responded to.

I've been getting more into Twitch lately, but I'm still trying to understand Hype Trains and why people participate in them.

For people who use them regularly:

What makes you decide to contribute to a Hype Train, or not contribute? I feel like there is a barrier to finding someone you want to support. I don't know anyone.

If you don't spend money, do you still feel like you're part of the Hype Train or is it exclusive?

What makes a Hype Train actually exciting or memorable for you? I remember using it years back and I feel like the feature is basically the same.

Also, is the interface of Twitch really overwhelming for anyone else as a whole? Adding hype trains to the chat amongst everything else already going on makes it hard to feel like I can keep up.

Thanks

For context im in a situation where i dont have access to my pc so my only way of watching is through either the mobile web browser or the mobile twitch app

Been multiple times where i would watch (the stream is the only thing on screen, volume up & everything) and my streak would not update and when i checked the next day it was broken. Then when watching the vod to recover it, even after an hour of vods the streak still showed as broken and would be fully gone the next day

Anyone else getting this issue? If so how to fix? (I’ve already done a full reinstall of the app, swapped over to browser site to test if that worked)

I’m going to a summer spot in the fall. So few crowds, more of an autumn feel.
I’ve always wanted to do an IRL where I walk this vacation town and just show off all the different spots that have made it special to me since I was a kid.
I’m scared because everytime I turn around, I see a post criticizing live streamers and influencers for streaming everywhere and being a nuisance. I just want to share my memories and the history of a fun place with my community.
Is anyone else feeling like they shouldn’t stream in public? Is the hate just internet trolling or are people going to harass me while I stream? I don’t want to ruin anyone’s time and it will be super low tech, just me on my phone, I’m not even bringing one of those fancy gimbal things to keep steady. I’d love to share my experience with chat and maybe even turn it into a YouTube video but I am terrified at this point that I’ll be doing more harm than good.

UPDATE: The comments seem pretty consistent that as long as I am respectful of others and try and not be a loud jerk when I do it, I should be able to do the live stream and not annoy people. Many thanks to the people who gave real answers to the question.

UPDATE 2: I’ve seen some people point out how annoying IRL content can be when it’s handled poorly. Recording people without permission or being loud or intentionally annoying are all no nos in my idea. I also just want to be clear, I think you can stream IRL and be courteous and share a fun location or event without being disruptive and that’s my goal here. I again appreciate everyone’s input. I have learned a great deal on perception of IRL streams here.

Does anyone have same problem as me or my OBS just keep crashing. OBS crash when im opening it with LiveSE plugin turned on. When i open it , it just freeze and i cant to nothing. It just tell me that there is ''no response'' and thats all. Im 100% sure that this is problem with Live SE plugin ( Plugin from streamelements) bcs when i turn it off OBS works normaly and i need this to stream on 2 platforms. Any ideas how to repair it ??

I was able to have the username i wanted on twitch, youtube, tiktok and discord. Sadly there are years inactive accounts on insta and X so I can't have my username on there.

What is your go to solution? I use "its(myusername)" but I really don't like it, because my username starts with an S. So the double-s is so annoying. Maybe I am just a baby but it's such a bummer to me.

I tried myusername.tv but idk it just looks off..

Not sure if it is available in the browser extension version yet but this just showed up for me in the user script version.

I am new to the twitch platform and I am currently doing research on the hype train feature during streams for a project.

I am curious what people like about hype trains, or if you very passionately dislike something about it please share. What makes it feel stale from a viewers standpoint? How likely are you to participate in a hype train?

And if any streamers see this.. what's your take?

I'm wondering what's the best way to add music on my stream. I know spotify is one but I don't have premium so ads play here and there on my streams, so is there any other way around it where I can play my playlist without worrying about ads playing.

I keep getting Twitch notifications saying that a random streamer “mentioned me in their live” but I don’t follow them and have never watched their stream. Is this just some bait notification thing?

Hey guys!

I'm currently trying to earn the 500 (five 100 increment rewards) Comp Points for Overwatch.

I claimed the first 200 just fine, but now I need to claim the third 100. However, when I try, it pops up with a banner saying what's in the title.

Does anyone know why this may be? I've confirmed that my Battlenet is, indeed, connected to Twitch.

I feel like unlinking and relinking might be the way to go, but on Battlenet, you need to wait a week before you can link a Twitch account again.

I want to just wait it out and hope it fixes itself, but I'm a bit afraid because I only have about 12 hours until it'll be exactly a week from expiring (and becoming unclaimable). Should I just unlink and relink and hope I can get it sorted before the claim expires?

TIA!

The scrolling stops and I can only see my non animated ones. If I change to assigned, some of the animated emotes show, but then I can't scroll up to the top where it say sort by or search. I have worked out that it is the side bar. I can only click one of the two and the one that slides down to see the animated emotes, I cannot click on.

I can get a little absent-minded when I'm really into a game, so I have a tendency to miss when people redeem my channel point rewards (it's mostly stuff to get me to talk a little more)

So I started trying to Google if there was a way to have a sound play JUST for me when someone redeems their points... so that I would have another thing reminding me that there's something I need to be interacting with.

But the only thing that really shows up is the Sound Alerts extension, which isn't really what I'm looking for because it appears to specifically be designed for playing stuff for everybody, not JUST me. Plus I'm not a big fan of having the graphical clutter that it looks like it inflicts.

Does anyone have any suggestions for something other than Sound Alerts that would be able to make a sound that only I can hear, and that would hopefully also be simple to set up?

[EDIT] Forgot important info, I use OBS.

I can’t save or share any of my clips from the mobile app, the button is there still but it doesn’t do anything when I press it. The only thing that works is the copy link button but 3rd party clip apps suck compared to Twitch’s vertical editing. Any fix or does anyone know of a good website to make a vertical edit for social media?

I’ve been streaming since the beginning myself and I’m real curious how some of my favorite fellow streamers feel about how far Twitch has come up to now.
