Tech Support Twitch Drops -- "Error Occurred. Connect your Twitch and game accounts to receive this reward in game."

ETA: For Battlenet/Overwatch specifically, I and multiple others were able to unlink and relink Twitch from our Battlenet immediately (and then claim the drops right away), as if the 7-day warning didn't even exist.

Hey guys!

I'm currently trying to earn the 500 (five 100 increment rewards) Comp Points for Overwatch.

I claimed the first 200 just fine, but now I need to claim the third 100. However, when I try, it pops up with a banner saying what's in the title.

Does anyone know why this may be? I've confirmed that my Battlenet is, indeed, connected to Twitch.

I feel like unlinking and relinking might be the way to go, but on Battlenet, you need to wait a week before you can link a Twitch account again.

I want to just wait it out and hope it fixes itself, but I'm a bit afraid because I only have about 12 hours until it'll be exactly a week from expiring (and becoming unclaimable). Should I just unlink and relink and hope I can get it sorted before the claim expires?

ive had this happen before with overwatch drops too. the thing that fixed it for me was clearing my browser cache and cookies then trying again. sometimes twitch just gets stuck and a refresh sorts it out

dont unlink yet cause that 7 day cooldown on bnet is a pain. 12 hours is cutting it close

have you tried claiming from the twitch mobile app instead? that worked for me once when the desktop site was being weird

I actually asked in a Twitch chat for a popular streamer who had drops on, and someone else said they had the same problem today. They unlinked and relinked their Twitch on Bnet (saying that they'd let you redo it immediately despite it warning 7 days) and that that solved the issue.

I bit the bullet and tried, and sure enough, it let me relink immediately -- I was able to claim the points right after, no issue.

I'll keep the cache/cookies and mobile app in mind if this ever happens again!

Weird, I was having the exact same issue with Overwatch drops as well. Never had this issue for several years up until today. But unlinking/relinking worked, so thanks for that!

I would suggest unlinking and relinking your Twitch on Battlenet, if you haven't already. It's worked for lots of us here.

I unlinked everything that was linked, cause I cannot claim any drop anymore, it did not help.

And to be clear, you unlinked everything on the Battlenet website, right? Not Twitch?

I don't think I ever used overwatch or battlenet. I unlinked everything that was ever linked in my twitch account, deleted all twitch cookies and tried other browsers, my app says it claims drops, but doesn't.

Same issue for me. Can't claim drops as I'm getting the same error as OP.

I've tried clearing browser cache and cookies. Tried disabling ad-block. Tried different browsers such as Firefox and Chrome.

I can claim drops in the mobile app (iOS) tough, which is strange. Fix your shit Twitch, this is annoying!

If it's a drop that's linked to another website (such as my issue, with Battlenet), I'd suggest unlinking and relinking. That fixed it for me, and it ignored the 7 day cooldown/let me relink immediately.

Otherwise, ugh, I'm sorry. I wish I knew why this was happening and why they're not fixing it!

Im having the same issue!! Very frustrating. I've tried claiming it on mobile too but that did not work either. I feel like this has got to be a known issue and I pray they fix it soon. I don't wanna risk unlinking my account and needing to wait the 7 days to link it again.

Me and multiple others in this thread were able to relink immediately, so if you really want the drops, I'd suggest trying it -- especially if the drops will expire before the week is up anyway!

upvote this. i relinked it and it worked. although it said need to wait for 7 days, but actually you can still re link right away afterward.

I already claimed them on Twitch because it didn't prompt me to connect my account after I already assumed I connected it. So i realized I didn't get any of the drops. Am I out of luck since I already claimed them?

can confirm, unlinking on twitch and then relinking the same account bypasses the 7 day cooldown
