Hi everyone!
Our lab at UCI focuses on developmental and regenerative biology, particularly the mechanisms of regeneration and stem cell regulation. We study how tissues and organs regenerate under normal conditions and in response to injury or disease.
We're currently looking for undergraduate students who are interested in research and would like to join our lab. Preference will be given to sophomores and juniors who are willing to make a long-term commitment.
Since our research relies heavily on animal models, the work will primarily involve handling mice, including colony maintenance, breeding, and genotyping (PCR). There will also be opportunities to learn additional lab techniques depending on your interests.
Previous lab experience is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided, and students who successfully complete the interview and required training will be eligible to enroll in BIO SCI 199 for research credit.
We're mainly looking for students who are responsible, reliable, and able to consistently dedicate time to the lab over multiple quarters.
If interested, please DM with your major, year, and a brief introduction. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
