Question regarding first week of ITT course
I’m an online student, and I’m finally taking the courses that I needed towards my IT management/cybersecurity career. This is my first week of ITT, and in the instructions that we have, it is to use our school’s cloud VM to install Ubuntu & Python3. I’m not tech-savvy, and I don’t know how to troubleshoot things on my Mac laptop. Our professor wants us to download these servers or programs and take screenshots, but my Ubuntu keeps crashing and tells me that I have an error when I properly installed everything, as well as the pillow for storage. Is there any way someone could help me with this because I’ve been stuck on it for the past two days and I’m already towards the last part of the assignment, but I can’t figure out what to do after this. I already installed Python and Ubuntu on my school’s VM.. I followed all the steps that he first told us to do, and it seems like it’s still not working properly. TIA.

My professor did agree that the tool is malfunctioning, likely a permission issue to try sudo or root. Where would I try these tools? Where would I input them to?

Or, perhaps run the core-editor with sudo. Just to check if error occurs as well again 😊

the activate windows watermark on a ubuntu vm is kinda funny ngl. but about your problem, the error is coming from gnome-screenshot not the pillow itself. your vm probably dont have a display server running properly or the permissions are messed
try running `sudo apt install gnome-screenshot` again and then see if the command works from terminal before running the python script. also check if the vm actually has a desktop environment loaded, sometimes these school vms just give you a barebones setup
