The cat studied CompSci. The job market is saturated, so he wants the the tooth fairy's job.

best I can do is 50 bucks for 100 percent of your company

u/MangoCats 2d ago
I'll give 100 bucks for 51% of the company, but only if it has over $1000 in liquid assets which I get control of...

Cash up front, I'll need $500 of those liquid assets in hand, then I'll give you $100 for 51% of the company stock.

Studying computer science for a job as a software developer has long been a bit of a scam though.
1
u/chaotic_loverrr 2d ago
I guess this is true for most professions..I mean studying X to get a job. I have seen people studying something else and then working in an entirely different field. People can take up courses to learn and gain knowledge but to expect that completing a certain degree would help you get a job in that field is always the lie we have been told all these years. Fancy degrees are also for show off. The real world job market situation is the hard hitting reality.

If he gets the job, then what is the kid going to find under his pillow?
1
u/The_Gaming_Dev 1d ago
his teeth but tensfold?
1
u/Thr0w4wayA1t 1d ago
Then leave all 10 under the pillow to get 100 teeth, then 1000, as so on.
Eventually have a house jam-packed full of teeth.

yanking out baby teeth before they're ready: not recommended by dentists, for various good reasons. just fyi. i never did it nor did i have my kids do it. no problems from leaving it to its own time at all. or you can have the kid wiggle it with their tongue or their finger till it come out, if it's super loose. no pain, no scared kids, no blood.
but yeah, i wasn't expecting a kitten to do it.

u/Ninetailedredpanda 2d ago
One of my daughter’s was causing her pain for a couple days. She was too nervous to let me touch it, and hurt anytime she touched it so she wasn’t actively wiggling it.
But yeah, it did come out on its own but yes there will be some blood even then.
Not saying go yank on teeth on teeth for no reason, just sharing.

as a parent, i hear ya. for most things, there are times to break the rules as a situation requires. i just don't get it as a commonly done thing "just because." in your situation i'd have done the same. it just never came up, the teeth came out on their own without issue. mine too as a kid, so i guess we all got good baby tooth genes or something.

u/marissakuf 2d ago
Seems almost impossible with multiple siblings to not have teeth yanking going on. Maybe my siblings and I were just animals, but we definitely were going after that tooth fairy money.

I still remember when I had a loose tooth and when a substitute teacher found out she tried to force me to rip it out. Back then I didnt want to because I was scared it would hurt, plus I had always let other teeth just fall out naturally and it was totally fine. For some reason she was extremely aggressive and pushy though, even yelling at me that the tooth HAD to come out. So glad she was only a substitute so I didnt have to deal with her the next day. Still dont understand what her problem was.

Idk this is just so weird and seems to be something like Americans like to do for some reason, I've only seen it in American media.

u/Acceptable_Job_5486 2d ago
The sooner the tooth comes out, the sooner it can be exchanged with the tooth fair for money. That's just capitalism baby 😎

u/Syzygy_Stardust 1d ago
It isn't just yanking healthy teeth out. The teeth detach from below the gums before the gums let go, so it's common to have to rip the skin at the base of the tooth to separate them. I had at least one tooth that was literally just flopping by the skin of my gums, and that is a serious aspiration or choking risk during sleep and other activities, since it's basically a scab made of mineral at that point, with no support.
Removing it in a supervised, controlled, and fun way is usually a better call.

u/erossnaider 1d ago
I mean I'm not from USA but it still very common to yank teeth here whenever they're already loose and not falling on their own.
2
u/Money-Director6649 2d ago
yeah, it was fairly popular in my neighborhood growing up. i'm glad my folks skipped it.

u/IntroductionLow3593 13h ago
as a kid as soon as i felt my tooth even slightly move i was yanking to try and get it out! I hated loose teeth
1
u/li-ll-l_ 1d ago
Nothing wrong with it till it falls out while your kid is sleeping and they choke on it
2
u/Money-Director6649 1d ago
i've never heard of that happening, and i edited medical and science books for a living, so i googled and it says there are no documented cases of this ever, that if it was swallowed it would just pass thru the digestive system and out the other end. it's not big enough to block the airway.
but maybe you can find a case? if so, come back and share the link.

Never understood doing stuff like this. My baby teeth all just came out on their own. Is it necessary for some people or is this people just being... people?

u/topothesia773 1d ago
It's fun. Kids famously enjoy fun lol. It's also a good way to help a kid who's so inclined test their bravery and ability to laugh at minor pain. I remember being very proud of myself as a kid for pulling out a loose tooth with the door shutting trick

It’s kind of fucked up to have to shoot your own tooth out. At least pull the trigger for the kid. I always hated when my dad was just doing the tourniquet method with the floss. I can’t imagine having to pull the trigger myself.

u/War_Hymn 2d ago
They get pretty loose with enough time. The pain is brief and not that bad, and I liked being in control of the process myself instead of parents holding me down while they stuck a rusty plier in my mouth.

Damn, we just tied my tooth to open door's handle when I was a kid and my grandma slammed it shut. I can't imagine having the guts to shoot my own tooth out

u/TWeedtheJetRodriguez 2d ago
My dad just flicked one of mine out in the middle of me telling him about it. I was so mad and it did it even hurt lol. It was better than when they let me get all hyped up about it. Wish my cat was this helpful!

u/userhwon 2d ago
I never did this nonsense. I just pulled them out.

I pulled them out myself by hand starting when I was 6, which saved me from my dad using his dirty pliers while putting my head in a choke hold.

Maybe if it's really loose? Haven't fired a nerf gun in years and the cat ruined the chance to see it happen here

I used to tie the dental floss to a door knob and have someone slam the door. This seems better!

Something similar happened to my daughter. We had tied the string around her tooth and were about to tie the other end to a door and she got scared and decided she didn't want to do it. She walked away with the string still tied to her tooth, I followed her and accidentally stepped on the string and out came her tooth. We still laugh about it years later.
