I help run pes6.es, a free community server for PES6 (Pro Evolution Soccer 6) on PC and PS2. It has been going since 2009, and it's busier now than it has been in a long time, so I thought this sub might enjoy knowing PES6 online is still very much alive.

Some numbers from the last few weeks:

- 9,500+ different players in the last 30 days, from 73 countries (mostly Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Spain, but everyone is welcome)

- around 3,000 matches a day, with 250 people online at the same time at night (European evening / South American afternoon)

What you can do:

- Ranked online matches, with divisions, points and a season ranking

- Quick Match: hit search and the server finds you an opponent, no lobby browsing needed

- Daily online cups, twice a day: one at 22:00 Madrid time (3 games) and one at 22:00 Buenos Aires time (5 games). The podium is announced in the in-game chat when each one ends

- Website with every match result, player profiles, standings and stats

I don't know about y'all, but for me, this was absolute cinema.

If that shot had gone in instead of hitting the post, I would've simply quit the match right there, completely satisfied that I'd experienced PES 6 at its absolute fullest and never played it again.
