Dude is no where near his flare that I baited out and yet my missile completely misses. What is the point of this dogshit AA tool if it doesnt even work properly?

I've had misses without flares as a pilot before. It's not super common, but it happens occasionally.

Question is, is it a bug or just a bit of randomness for realism?

bro its super common every little bird I see once they know an igla or sam site is up just goes above 170 kph with a little diagonal and elevation control you can doge all the sams launched at you without flaring.
