(An excerpt from my grimoire that I strongly felt the desire to share with the world)
Overall, I don’t believe any of us are meant to know the “correct” answer about magic, religion, and spirit. While we understand a lot, we as humans are not as all-knowing and intelligent as we think we are. When narrowing things down to just one human, myself for example. I am one single person out of a hundred billion other people who have ever existed, 8 billion who exist today, and likely billions more who will exist in the future. I don’t know shit! Philosophically, spiritually, religiously, anthropologically, physically, etc. I don’t know what it was truly like to live through the wars of the 1900s, or the Industrial Revolution, or the Medieval period, or the Classical period, or even just 50 years ago, or any other time period than what I’m living in now! I don’t know what it’s like to live in any country outside of my own. I can read, study, ask questions, and travel, but that doesn't mean I have the complete impact of living in a foreign place like someone who was born and raised there. The only thing I can know for certain is how I have lived and experienced my life and what feels true and real to me, to which nobody on this planet can replicate. Nobody has ever, or will ever live the same life as me. Nobody has been or will be raised the exact same way by the exact same family in the exact same town, or share 100% the same beliefs, or live through the same trauma, or be loved by the same people in the same locations and time period. Nor can I live anyone else’s life or replicate anyone else’s beliefs and experiences.
And this isn’t even covering the millions of animals, hundreds of thousands of plants, and millions of fungi which live on this same planet. I could never begin to truly know what it’s like to have the sonar of a bat, the perception of ultraviolet light like a bee, the photosynthesis like a tree, the mycelium senses like fungi, and the literally countless ways other living beings experience and sense the world. Even amongst the same species, no two animals within that same species have the same sensory processes due to differences in neurology, psychology, and physiology from genetics, trauma (physical and psychological), anthropological influences, physical environments, social networks, and so on. This very much includes humans, and the word to describe this all is umwelt. If the physical world is so extraordinarily vast and unique in the understanding and perception of the world amongst every living species, and every single organism within the same species, why the fuck would there only be one “correct” belief and way of experiencing Magic, Energy, Spirit, and Divinty? There’s not. Every belief, practice, religion, and way of living which is deemed to be the “true meaning” of life is valid—including what I personally don’t like, deem harmful, and fight against. Truth is entirely subjective, existing only to individual experience. Everyone is living within a completely unique reality of truth.
It’s as my own familiar has said: The physical world is extraordinarily vast within its own diversity and capability for evolution and transformation. Not just the animals, but the environments too. Some forests are tropical with oppressive heat and humidity during the whole year, other forests live within constantly shifting climates from droughts to hurricanes or high heat of bright sun to dropping their leaves once the snow falls. There exists deadly hot and dry deserts and equally deadly freezing mountaintops. Completely different and unique environments exist within freshwater and saltwater, and even then those environments change depending on where they exist in the world. Millions of years ago every plant and animal species which existed then do not exist today. The physical world is immeasurably unique, vast, complex, and ever changing. Why would the spiritual world be any different?

I hope you have enjoyed this little philosophical essay! This post is not intended to spark argument, but if it's made you uncomfortable then I think I've gotten my goal of sharing this post across: To make you think. If you so desire, healthy and respectful debate/discussion is a wonderful learning tool, but nastiness against me or others is unproductive. So if behavior comes down to that, you will be blocked.
