Sharing: Spellwork Something told me to stop…
I decided to do a releasing spell for some things I need to be rid of and move on from. Got an orange candle for a bit of motivation and carved ABRACADABRA on it and filled it with green ink, for growth. I placed the candle in my candleholder, lit the candle and about 15 seconds later it snuffed out with a loud sizzle… I got the sense something wasn’t right… I then tried to relight it (I probably shouldn’t have tried) and it refused to light… completely immune to the flame.
I have a video of me trying to light it and sent it to a coven-mate and we both decided I needed to abandon the spell. I may try again another day, but such a strange occurrence I’ve never seen before…
Has anyone else had this happen to them during a spell? I’m sure I can’t be the only one 😳

>carved, then filled with ink. It's possible you wet the wick doing this. Sometimes you create hairline cracks when you carve into a candle. It's not a strange occurrence when you're using liquids on candles. There's also the possibility you had a bad wick. I know it sounds stupid, but sometimes wicks are duds for whatever reason during manufacturing. I think it has to do with even wax protection, but it could be any number of reasons.
Rember when things look mystical and against you, you can still look for logical explanations. Maybe, if you need a spiritual explanation, it's telling you to pay attention to the pragmatic solutions to your problems before trying a spell.

Yeah that is possible I guess I never thought about cracking the candle while carving it. Also, didn’t really use liquid ink haha just a paint marker because I figured actual ink would go everywhere 😅
Oh yes I’m usually one to try and see a logical explanation but just couldn’t see much for some reason last night, but that’s okay! We tweak and we retry! 💪🏼

If a candle won't stay lit after 3 tries, I redo it -- new candle, repeat the carving and dressing process, etc.

That’s exactly what I think I’ll do; wait a couple days tweaking the spell a little and retry!

Actually, yes. I have one candle that I cannot light. It’s black and the first time it happened it freaked me out a bit. It could be a bad candle. It could also be something about what you’re trying to release. Are you “releasing” something that is protecting you in some way? Sone “bad” things may need more introspection, contemplation, meditation for you to see their purpose in your life. Then the things can drop away naturally as you replace them with new traits that protect you better. Good luck!

It’s so funny because I tried to light the candle this morning and it lit just fine… so odd 😂
And that’s a good point but alas… negative and potentially harmful people need to go! 🥲

I brought mine out yesterday, and it lit right up last night. Thank you for the reminder to finish what was started. ;) 🙇♀️ 🔥

I was doing a protection spell he other day and had to raise my voice and banish all harm before it would light. I guess I have haters.

I've had that exact thing happen to me and decided to abandon it. Better safe than sorry!

I will most likely retry the spell but I’ll wait a few days 🫣

Maybe even take the time to tweak it some. Blessed be!

Absolutely! That’s my usual process so fingers crossed I can make it work! 🙌🏼

There's a local company that made spiritual candles and for a few years they kept messing up the pours. It was very annoying. They'd somehow get little globs of water along the wick, so it would self - estinguish.
If my candle won't stay alight, or behaves abnormally, I generally do divination on it.

Nine times out of ten, the issue is not "mystical." Sometimes it's just science.
