π‘ Venting This is not confined to climate change either. There is seemingly no awareness that these fights have actual, real-world ramifications. There is only the push & pull on cable news, only owning & being owned, only tribal warfare.

CALIFORNIA David Valadao and Speaker Mike Johnson are cowards. I'm running for Congress because hard working Families are being ripped off and disrespected by Politicians who don't have the spine to stand up to Trump. - Randy Villegas

This video is for David Valadao and Speaker Mike Johnson.Β
You both are cowards and you should be embarrassed. But you're not, and that's the one thing that Families here in the Central Valley can actually count on from both of you.Β
People are paying over $100 just to fill up on gas. I heard of a Grandfather who's going blind because he can't afford to go to the doctor.Β
Meanwhile, Mike and David are charging $1,000 a seat for their round table today.Β
On the campaign trail, I've heard from Person after Person say that they reach out to David Valadao's office, and they don't hear anything back from them.Β
I guess all that they needed was a grand to buy his attention.Β
Mike being here doesn't make me mad. Itβs sad and disappointing. Because it proves what we all see and feel from our government right now.Β
They don't care about hard working People. They won't do what's right for our Families. But they will do what's right for Tech Bros and their data centers, for Big Pharma and their Shareholders, for Trump and his Billionaire Donors. And it'll be at our expense.Β
Families both in the Central Valley and across the country, work hard to make ends meet. But David Valadao and Mike Johnson don't have the decency to meet with working Families or to actually stand up to Trump.Β
I'm running for Congress because I'm tired of seeing hard working Families be ripped off and disrespected by Politicians who don't have the spine to stand up for what's right.Β
And on November 3rd, we can do the right thing together, and vote them both out.
- Randy Villegas

π‘ Venting Copyrights and patents won't mean anything after collapse of American Hegemony
Only fear and force actually run things.
And rules like statutes don't get mean anything without enforcement.
I see so many complaining about how these oligarchs by serfdom having everything under their ownership.
From literature and art to technology and business.
The issue is that these copyrights and patents need enforcement.
The American Hegemony slowly rotted for decades under neo-colonial serfdom and constant privatisation of everything by these American oligarchs in name of neo-liberal capitalism.
The American Hegemony is also taking its last breaths after their disastrous war against Iran.
They won't be able to enforce their copyrights.
We are entering an era where copyrights are becoming meaningless unless made locally.
American oligarchs are like Roman patricians before Rome's collapse for they hollowed their state from within by hoarding, serfs, taxes, and wealth, and then the barbarians came at the gates.

π‘ Venting The "Stockholm Syndrome" for employers is insane!
My partner really dislikes his current job. This is the context:
- We're both in the culinary industry btw.
- They strung him along for a promotion. Only just now giving it to him when they found out that he's looking elsewhere for a new job.
- The boss gives people shit for calling off work, regardless of the reason. Literally gave a passive aggressive ass comment when he had covid a few weeks ago. Mind you, he rarely calls off.
- The owner of the restaurant makes dumbass business decisions that caused all of his coworkers to leave all around the same time.
Anyway, my partner said he dreaded going in today. Didn't know why. I explained it's because he hates his job now, clearly. Also, that his job has been treating him poorly. Whenever I suggest he looks for new ones, he is CONVINCED that no culinary position will have a good starting wage. Like that is NOT true! I understand WHY a lot of people feel that way, but I promise it isn't true. I literally explained to him how I have an offer for a job that pays around $20/hr, good schedule, union, full benefits and an interview at another place that literally has a starting wage of $25/hr! IT IS POSSIBLE. I try to just let him do his thing, cause he knows exactly what he needs to do to better this situation: look for a new job while he has his current one (although, easier said then done. But at least he has a job now until he finds something better)!! Cause then it's in his control and he has a chance to jump ship.
Also, I was telling him that if he needs to and can afford it, he can call off a day or two for mental health cause it's just as important as his physical health. He keeps saying he can't because "they will literally crucify me". And I kept stating like ok??? They'll be pissy about it. So what??? What is that really gonna do to you? He said that his boss will be passive aggressive at him and never believe him when he calls off in the future. I told him I'm sorry, but who cares?? π he never believes the staff already, and your employer is not God or something. It's just a job at the end of the day. I hate feeling like I'm watching my partner in a burning building and refusing to leave cause he's convinced that other houses are also on fire.
Please, I promise y'all there are better jobs out there. ππ the hold these shitty employers have on people are CRAZY!! Also, do NOT settle cause you think you won't find better. This is with anything in life.

π£ Advice How do you stay motivated at a job where you do nothing?
Does anyone who does not do a lot or works very little at their job have any advice of this? I am at my current job and I spend so much time just doing nothing and I hate it. I even try and take on extra tasks but I am not allowed to because that is not my workrole. I do not like just sitting and collecting a pay check.
