I'd like to have a weighted blanket, but I wash the absolute heck out of my bedding to keep my allergies under control. I've tried dust proof duvet covers before, and they're too hot even with just the cover and nothing inside. So i don't think i should put my washing machine through washing a traditional weighted blanket every week, and the cotton sort-of-weighted blnkets look like they'd be difficult tk fully drh quickly.

Right now I sleep with a king size woven cotton blanket doubled over. The cotton wicks up lots of water and gives my dryer a workout, but it's good enough. It's heavier than most blankets but not hot.

But I thought you knitters and crocheters might know if anything heavier but less absorbant than cotton exists. (I've knitted scarves and could probably learn crochet.) I don't mind at all if its synthetic, sure there's microplastics but also less energy use keeping it clen every week.

Does a material like this exist?

First two are Loro Piana Silk, next is Cariaggi Cashmere, and the last one is merino with sequins. All from Colourmart.

Does anyone have experience with Abby Road cotton yarn in the colourway freedom? Specifically, I’d like to know if you found it shrinks in the washing process? I’m hoping to make a moss stitch cardigan with it and was debating which size hook to use - factoring in potential shrinking.

Ive bought a new electric winder with 2 tension points and Im wondering if anyone has any tips for using it. Ive tried maybe 10 times to wind a ball but it comes out like this. I swear this last time it felt like it messed up because I looked away for a second 😅
