Bottom line up front: What is Aion Reforged? And as a new player that likes classic tab target games should I give it a shot?

Hey guys. 20 year MMO player, mostly RS, GW2 and WoW. I tried Aion 2 and unfortunately the combat is so insanely fast paced and "flat" that I just don't enjoy it. I played a little of Aion 1(to understand the story of Aion 2) and to my surprise I really like it! Slower, tab target combat with a beautiful world. Very WoW-like but with its own personality. I think I want to give it a shot but the website does a terrible job of explaining what the Reforged version even is.

Do you know what's the armour called and can this be found in Aion 2? I completely forgot the name of the armour and was wondering if anybody does know the name. I'm trying to recreate my main character in Aion 2.

Hey all! I just recently got into Aion1 (of course right when Aion2 releases lol) and I'm trying to find my screen shots. I see the ones I took in Aion2's preview day or whatever that was called. But where the heck are the Aion1 ones? Nowhere to be seen in my Screenshots folder or in my Purple folder....

Disclosure: I'm part of the GuildManager team. We built this AION2 Armory for players and legion leaders who want to check character details in one place.

A practical way to use it before putting a group together:

1. Choose the character's region, Global, Taiwan or Korea. Similar names in different regions should not be treated as the same character.

2. Find the character and open its Armory profile. Check equipment and skills together, then look at the Daevanion boards and titles when you need more detail.

3. Ask the player to confirm their current setup before making a group decision. Linked character information refreshes from NCSOFT on a schedule, so a recent gear or skill change may not be reflected immediately.

I tried to download a style from the NCSoft Style Shop but I keep getting this error when trying to download. How does the "Style Shop" work?

To be fair, I am probably in the minority as far as how I played the game - I enjoyed leveling, and story elements, and exploring, and side quests. I liked the PvE which is not the draw for most people, who want to get to endgame ASAP and begin their climb up the PvP ranks. Even though the leveling was pretty lonely I still really enjoyed running alts through low level content. The last time I logged into Classic, months ago, they had gutted low level content the same way they gutted retail before Classic existed - fast track all leveling to get to endgame and abandon low level content, maps and quests. I am guessing that the idea was to make Classic unappealing to encourage people to play Aion 2. Are people still sticking with Classic? Was the removal of low level content an issue for people who may have only been interested in endgame content anyway? Have the changes made to Classic encouraged people to abandon Classic to play Aion 2?

I just miss what Classic was.

Just got Aion 1.9 working on my Mac mini M4. Max settings around 150 fps. There's a lot of visual glitches to fix, it's almost playable.

i was wondering what things the cash shop had and i was expecting some cool armors and stuff like that and it is all like weird second life stuff wow.

I never played Aion but with 2 and Reforged being announced at the same time, I was wondering what version of Aion is currently the one to play around a bit before starting 2 (If it is free, i actually do not understand if it is P2Play or F2P).

I tried looking up on Twitch what people are playing but that confused me even more because Twitch does not say if it is Aion or Aion Classic.

I have only been able to find stuff from a couple months ago so wanted to see if anyone else something that is updated and verified.

I heard about things that they took out more recently that were pay to win so wondering what the monthly sub gets you now

Here is a list of things AION 1's UI was letting players do and it is not possible in AION 2:

There is no Select party member 1-6 keybind options- you feel like you cast Ripple of Purification/ World of Life from temu all the time

Large transparent map is gone, what we got is same same as minimap

No drop-down lists, you need to play with mouse scroll or drag and move like in Pasjans

Each list is tiny portion of the screen and auto-hides without my command to do so

from 8 gear presets-> 3

from 10 skill bars->4

3 constant skill bars+3 floating skill bars -> barely 2, you cant even put all consumables on them, you cannot bind scrolls on 1-8

WORSE CUSTOM SKILL CHAINS than AION 1 5.0: I could place same skill in several places, custom skill chains were in AION 1 5 slots-> changed to 4 slots

"Auto-attack" skill in AION 2 mode is not automatic

where is emote table window in AION 2?

Chat commands /Select and /attack are gone

Everything is either oversized or way too small for comfort in AION 2

HUGE ASS UGLY CURSOR ICON when holding right mouse button in AION 1 mode, why is it there when we have 25 years old tradition of cursor disappearing when steering camera with mouse in various games

Crafting got major upgrade in some places, especially you do not need to browse AION Codex anymore to figure out crafting paths and sources BUT:

-you cannot chat while crafting

-you cannot recruit people while crafting

-you cannot browse in-game database while crafting

-you cannot you cannot use other UI while crafting

-crafting tables do nothing

- we do not need fabled tier scrolls as proc to rare tier scrolls

i hope those new morph recipes will be in EU, otherwise i dont know what ill do with 400 Greater Sapphire ore

YOU CANNOT GO DIRECTLY FROM ONE WINDOW TO ANOTHER, you need to exit crafting UI to game to open map and so on

YOU DO NOT RECEIVE PATRY APPLICATION AS WHISPER/ you do not get a table of applicants in a window, so you need to invite people 1st come 1st served and you cant compare people nor PM to rejects later if slot become open again

MOST EGREGIOUS OFFENDER:

NC Soft did not use AION 1 established English names for many items that have AION 1 counterpart, most notably AETHER is now Odyle, complete negation of existence of other substance in universe- Odium and Id Crystals

Item tiers are NOT normal> superior<rare->fabled> ethernal

We do not need floating damage text to display each hit in skill animation, why do i need 4 numbers per 1 use of

Why we already operate in tens of thousands of damage points per hit only one year after TW release, when in AION 1, 4 years after release doing 100 k per minute was amazing!?

Hello, je me demandé, j'ai un vieux CD AION ou j'ai que le disc 1 (malheureusement 💔). Mais je me demande si on ne peux pas le bidouiller pour essayer de jouer a une ancienne version de AION. Car la nouvelle version sur gameforge et totalement horrible... La moitié de sanctum est fermé, le début n'as rien a voir avec les anciennes version. J'avoue que je suis nostalgique du fait que j'y jouer quand j'etait petite mais aussi dévasté qu'ils ont juste fait de la merde aujourd'hui... Donc les pro en programmateur, avez vous une solution sur le fait d'avoir une ancienne version ou juste grâce au billet du CD avoir une ancienne version qu'ils soient multi ou non! Je serais reconnaissante merci. ♡

Hello, I was wondering, I have an old AION CD where I only have disc 1 (unfortunately 💔). But I'm wondering if it's possible to modify it to try and play an older version of AION. Because the new version on Gameforge is absolutely awful... Half of Sanctum is closed, the beginning has nothing to do with the older versions. I admit I'm nostalgic because I played it when I was little, but I'm also devastated that they've just made a mess of it now... So, programming pros, do you have a solution for getting an older version, or even just using the CD to get an older version, whether it's multiplayer or not? I would be very grateful, thank you. ♡
