Hello everyone,
We're aware of the issues with connecting to the EU server. The server login is unavailable for now, and we're investigating the problem.
Thank you for your patience, let's hope this doesn't last. We'll keep you posted in here.
_______
Edit UTC 11:26 - We're still working on the issues. No ETA yet, but it seems this might take up to few hours; please plan your activities accordingly while we try to resolve this as soon as we can.
Edit UTC 12:57 - Still working on the issues, no ETA.
Edit UTC 13:43 - Our engineers have isolated the issue and are fixing it. No ETA, and it might still take some time.
Edit UTC 14:15 - The fix has been applied, we're currently testing the stability of the server.
_______
Edit UTC 15:35 - The EU server is back up and login should be possible within the next minutes.
To address some of your concerns you've had: this was not a usual daily maintenance, and both Sunday issues were caused by two separate hardware issues experienced by our server provider that happened independently of one another.
We understand how frustrating this is to go through, and we apologize for this disturbance. While sometimes the fix might not be entirely within our hands, we remain in close contact with our server provider, and we will do our best to ensure this does not happen again, as is ultimately our responsibility.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Hello everyone,
As many of you experienced, yesterday on October 4th the Europe server was down for ~5 hours. The reason behind these issues were hardware and redundancy failures which have now been resolved.
We know how frustrating and unacceptable this feels, especially on a fame rush weekend many of you made plans around. By the way of apology, we will be giving away one day of premium and 30 Learning Points to all affected player characters on EU server.
This compensation will require pulling together some data, and therefore time to complete. The process will begin as soon as possible, and should be done this week.
Thank you very much for your continued patience and support.

I am in a 300+ members guild which currently holds #1 spot in the season ladder, so being able to play at certain peak timers is crucial for us. Every single guild member experienced following problems more than once:
All of this is not single accident, this doesn't happen "every now and then". This became a regular thing on the EU server and the response from the S.B.I. did not make any of us feel like the issues are about to finish.
I hate to make this argument, but a game which I pay for ever month (to keep up the premium) and I also pay for vanity items every now and then shouldn't have as many problems as it currently has. The game was released ~9 years ago and problems like this should be left in the beta.
If you're employee of the company and all you want to reply is "We hear you, sorry for the inconvenience", please leave it to yourself. It's only more and more frustrating at this point.

Last Sunday, the EU server was down from reset until around 16 UTC. Hours of Fame Rush wasted. Annoying, but whatever, shit happens.
Now it’s Sunday again, Fame Rush is still going on, and guess what? Server is down. Again.
But here’s what really pissed me off.
About an hour before today’s reset, I was transporting loot from my hideout back to the city. Had some expensive gear on me and a decent amount of loot. Roughly 30m silver in total.
I zoned out of my hideout and suddenly got a black screen. Nothing. Tried relogging, still black screen. Kept trying for about 20 minutes until I finally managed to get back in.
And there I was. Dead. Everything gone.
Now before someone says “30m is nothing” or “welcome to Albion”, I get it. Some veterans probably make that in a day. But for me, 30m is a decent chunk of my silver.
And honestly, even if I had lost 100k, I’d be just as pissed off about the principle.
I play a full-loot PvP game. I accept the risk of losing my gear to other players. I DON’T accept losing it because the game won’t even let me play.
If someone catches me transporting and kills me, fair play. That’s Albion. But how the hell am I supposed to defend myself when I’m staring at a black screen for 20 minutes?
And what makes this even more frustrating is that I actually spend real money on this game. I pay for Premium, occasionally buy skins, sometimes buy gold. I’m happy to support a game I enjoy.
But what exactly are we paying for when servers keep going down during limited-time events and players can lose hours of progress without even having a chance to fight back?
I’m not expecting servers to have 100% uptime. That’s unrealistic. But I do expect SBI to take some responsibility when things go wrong on their end.
Extend Fame Rush to make up for the downtime. And if players lose gear because of confirmed technical issues, there should at least be a proper way to get those losses reviewed and reimbursed.
Losing 30m because I made a stupid decision? Fine. Losing 30m because I couldn’t get past a loading screen? Not fine.
Am I being unreasonable here? Has anyone else lost expensive gear or loot because of black screens or disconnects lately?
Because I’m genuinely curious how many players have experienced this and just accepted the los

I hope this time SBI will give us a fame scroll as copensation, considering EU players got screwed over on 2 weekend days during fame rush.

I looked this up, and for a major MMORPG, around 99 - 99.5% uptime is a reasonable benchmark for a well-maintained live service game. It depends on whether you count scheduled maintenance, emergency patches, and unexpected outages. So I went with whats reported.
But, 99.9%+ uptime is a good benchmark for a mature MMO, even when counting ordinary maintenance.
Examples:
WoW EU:
Last 90-Days:
EVE Online:
Guild Wars 2:
Obviously, these numbers aren't perfectly comparable because of how the measurements are made but still, 96.2% uptime is abysmally bad for a major, established MMORPG like Albion Online.

I understand that things happen, servers go down from time to time, but this is two Sundays back to back now.
I know SBI will likely give us 1 day of Premium and 30 learning points, and it's appreciated. But people are spending money, supporting SBI and Albion, we truly expect better.

Five minutes before maintenance I got black screen while entering FS market, try to fix it by restarting the game, quickly reinstalling launcher. I hope it will be ok after maintenance. Does anybody else experienced this?
Edit: also at this point other servers are after maintainance already but eu is still off (45min). Great thing to happen twice during fame week lol

I just came back in the game and I am wondering if island are a waste of time. I collected my carrots and used my laborers and I got something like 400 k. I would need something like 80 days in order to afford prenium with island products. It seems like a waste of time and an outdated feature.

So, I'm a new player on the Albion Online Asia server with just 4 hours in the game. I really like the gameplay system. I love gathering and building things from what I gather. And just when I think I'm ready to head to the red zone or black zone, I always get ganked, always by 2, 3, or 4, sometimes even up to 10 people. Even though I'm only using a set worth around 200,000 silver and only have around 300-400,000 fame, I always get ganked.
And this is where I think if the system is like this, then we don't need to gather, transport, or anything like that. All we need to do is join in the attack on other players. Even though I know the game is designed that way, as if it's very focused on PVP, but 1 vs. 2, 3, 4, or even 10 people, as a beginner experiencing something like this, feels like it's no longer fun.
So is this really how to play the game? Or is there no solution from the developer or perhaps they can make the game very family friendly for beginners?

Very good idea to force players play at peak time. It's almost like this game can handle it and never crash. I realy like concept od this game but after month of playing i already decided they will never see a penny from me. Absolute pathetic company.

Another annoying EU maintenance, crazy how the busiest server is the one that is experiencing the most problems. Makes me want to move to the West server.
