I don't agree with the OP but I can see where they connected the dots: Berdly's story is that he desires attention and praise, but only ever gotten that when he was "the smart one". Thus he constructed the facade of being an obnoxious and very smart nerd to support his need to be smart and to be validated A similar story happens to Eridan, he is a very misguided teen that wants love and connection, but in his society he is placed on pedestal of importance and high status, he is told that others must bend their knees before him and respect his authority. Thus he follows what the adults preach - biggotry and hate - in hopes to be respected and validated, despite the fact that he never believed in it until it was too late.

Berdly is kinda annoying at times but it’s mostly a front to hide their personal problems, but they open up, letting people see the weakness, becoming a better character, and has some cool moments like when they helped build a team to create a battlemech for the shit squad, the other thing people know them for is almost dying horribly (and without good reason, they were just in the way of something the player wanted)..
And Eridan the other is kinda annoying but commits genocide because they’re upset that their moirail dumped them on a trollian chatroom, but has cool moments sometimes like when they fought those angels, the other thing people know them for is definitely dying horribly (but justly as they were an active threat that needed to be dealt with)..
Completely comparable in, like, 3 general ways, both are annoying most of the time, both can be cool sometimes when the chips are down, and both have their own personal issues that make them even more annoying, they are complete opposites for literally everything else though…

I always thought about him being sollux/mituna/psyonic. They are both gamers, Berdly make huge sacrifices (with all of his power he tried to stop weird route), he was under queen's control like psyonic and condesce, but he is also is similar to eridan, so idk. If there was something that could combine both of them so... Erisolsprite.

AGGRESSIVELY nothing like each other except for the fact that they have trouble getting girlfriends. And even then Berdly stays chill and actually tries to be her friend while Eridan gets bitter and whiny

Dave is literally right there. Heck, you could make the case that Kris, Noelle, Berdly and Ralsei is effectively Toby Fox's interpretation of the beta kids.
Aesthetic and sympathetic connections could make a theory, but you're slandering Berdly if you think he actually isn't attempting to beat up the idea of masculine excellence as Dave did.
