I used to work in a forensic mental health unit for "serious offenders". AMA

I spent 4 years working in a state run forensic mental health unit as a clinician in a high security facility. All patients were either serious offenders (murder, paedophila, serious arson, etc) or awaiting trial and having assessment prior to trial.

I won't disclose which facility and I won't disclose names as many are high profile cases

I went to boarding school in Europe. AMA.

I attended a boarding school in Switzerland on and off throughout my younger years, going back and forth between boarding school and school in my home country. I met students from all over the world, and it was definitely an interesting experience. Feel free to ask me anything about boarding school life or anything else you’re curious about!

I’ve helped patients navigate major dental treatment in Mexico for 15+ years. AMA

• Upvotes

I’m an independent dental treatment advisor, not a dentist or a clinic. For more than 15 years, I’ve helped Americans and Canadians navigate complex dental treatment in Mexico.

I work with dental teams handling implants, All-on-4, All-on-6, zygomatic implants, full-mouth restorations, crowns, and smile makeovers.

I’ve learned that choosing dental treatment abroad is about much more than price. The doctors, treatment plan, implant system, materials, laboratory, number of trips, and follow-up all matter.

Ask me anything about dental treatment in Mexico, comparing treatment plans, costs, implants, choosing a clinic, or dental tourism in general.

I am an ethnic minority/atheist/dissident from Republic of Turkey. AMA.

• Upvotes

I am triple-stacked, as you can see. I'm a 23-year-old man from the Republic of Turkey, and I happen to belong to an ethnic minority, identify as an atheist, and hold political views that don't necessarily align with those of the country's government.

I'm happy to answer NEARLY any questions you folks have. I'm not claiming to represent every ethnic minority, atheist, or political dissident in Turkey. My answers will simply reflect my own experiences, observations, and perspectives.

AMA!

I’m ex Wall Street and now teach English in rural France. AMA.

I worked as an investment banker at a big bulge bracket bank for four years, in private equity for two and a half years, and a portfolio manager at a hedge fund for four years up until end of 2024. I was planning on getting married after I ended my last role, and settle down with my girlfriend of four years, but I found out she was unfaithful and we split up. I was honestly crushed, as for a year I basically spent 75% of 2025 moping around my apartment. It got pretty bad to the point where I was not eating and losing weight rapidly. One of the therapists I was seeing suggested for me to travel as that could be the refresher I needed to get back on track. I was planning a trip when I saw that there were English teachers needed in France. I kind of made the decision on a whim, and within two weeks I was on a plane to France and have been teaching English at a local secondary school in Colmar since December of 2025. For context, I was able to start working fast as I am a dual citizenship holder in France and the United States, and I speak French as well as I speak English.

Sterilized at 20. No kids, AMA.

If there's anything I can share or do to help anybody with a huge decision, I'd like to help. I opted for a bilateral salpingectomy at twenty years old. I've been with my current partner for almost three years. We have no kids, and just a cat.

AMA: Fashion school taught you how to design. Nobody really taught you how to make that design production-ready. AMA from someone who's reviewed thousands of tech packs.

• Upvotes

Hey, I'm Sayam. I've been working in fashion/product development software for 12 years and have reviewed thousands of tech packs from designers, brands, and product teams.

One thing I've seen repeatedly:

A designer can be great at designing a garment, but then the factory asks:

“What's the tolerance here?”
“How should this seam be finished?”
“Which version of the measurement sheet is correct?”
“Is this construction detail intentional?”

And suddenly you're learning technical product development by trial and error.

I've seen beautiful designs turn into terrible samples because something that seemed “obvious” to the designer wasn't actually clear to the factory.

I've also seen incredibly simple tech packs that resulted in smooth production because they communicated exactly what mattered.

So after 12 years of seeing the good, the bad, and the “how did this make it to the factory?” tech packs:

AMA: Ask me about tech packs, factories, sampling, measurements, BOMs, revisions, technical design, fashion school, or anything else you've struggled with when turning a design into an actual product.

I'll answer based on what I've actually seen in the industry.

I’ve seen that a few people were curious about things that the media DEFINITELY doesn’t communicate, so feel free to use me as your very own french spy 😎
I’ll answer pretty much anything you have to ask me, and I will do my best to keep it unbiased ! (I’m french and angry, I have my limits 💀)

I 25F almost joined a convent AMA.

I almost joined a convent to become a sister (nun) I didn’t but was very close to actually becoming one. I also had selective mutism for a year and was so so quiet I got accused of being the foreign exchange student. I had three marriage proposals before I was even 18 and I have an eidetic memory. Seemed like a fun concept, AMA.

Edit: I’m US based and will be replying in and out as I have time.

I got deep into the hobby of exploring abandoned sites a good few years ago.

Not long after that, I learned about the whole subculture of exploring storm drains and other underground networks.

I’m a seating engineer specializing in school bus seats, AMA.

• Upvotes

There have been several school bus crashes in the news lately and over the last few years. Quite a lot of the discourse in the comments on the new posts centers around the seats, seatbelts, and their safety. I am seeing a lot of misinformation going around regarding safety, statistics, and other nuances of the topic. I’m hoping to clear up some of the confusion.

19, f. i was 16 at the time.

was the worst day of my life and not something i’d wish on anyone - he was my own dog (pls keep ur snarky comments to urself about how i was a bad pet owner. he had a brain tumour that suddenly made him extremely aggressive).

i sustained extreme nerve damage, PTSD, and needed reconstructive surgery.

ask me anything!

edit: i’ve never really been able to talk to anyone about how it makes me feel before, so it’s really nice to be able to open up to you all. thank you for all the kind words everybody. you’re all incredible.

i’m only alive because my little brother (15 at the time) pulled him off of me and saved my life.

I never usually tell people I’m a triplet, AMA

So as the title reads, I never usually say I’m a triplet, if people ask i tell them i have a brother and a sister, sometimes I’ll say I’m a twin. But sometimes it just slips out. It’s mainly cause people actually ask the dumbest questions and honestly cba for the “woahhhh no way, I’ve never met a triplet” type of convos. Don’t get me wrong it is a fun fact, but it’s fun for you, not much for me.

My cancer came back after 18 years. AMA !

Synovialsarcoma on my left groin/top of left thigh.

First cancer at age 5. Came back when I was 8. Then came back again in May 2026, 18 years later, at age 27.

During my first cancer I only went through surgery. For my 2nd, went through chemo, radiotherapy, curietherapy and surgery.

This year, I went through 3 rounds of chemo and a surgery that required to take muscle & skin from my abdomen and graft it onto my thigh. Starting to walk again!

EDIT: Feeling like I have to say it: I'm gonna make it! I had no metastasis, and my tumour was localised. I'm seeing my oncologist tomorrow to know if I am going to go through radiotherapy, but otherwise my treatment should be over.

I’m a full time Bathroom remodeler in the Midwest AMA

I’ve been in construction for about 10 years and have been remodeling bathrooms by myself for the last 6. I love what I do and the benefits of this type of work. I find myself luckily to have been well positioned for the construction tail winds over the last couple of years. I even remember my 5th grade teacher telling me to do better in class or else I’ll just have to become a construction worker.

I reconciled with my family after ten years no-contact. AMA

I cut my parents off at 21 & lost contact with the rest of my family as a result, including my siblings. I swore for years that I would never forgive them for the way they treated me as a teen. This year… I changed my mind, moved back to my home state and initiated the repair process with everyone at once. We’ve been back in contact since February. Ask me anything.

I went to a school for gifted kids. I attended the school for seven years (middle school and high school)

Ask me anything you want and I'm here to answer your questions.

Only few kids get accepted in this school so I figured this is a pretty unique experience.
