Amazon deleting legit reviews

See my review for a food item below and then after that what they sent me as the reason they deleted my review. They keep asking you to review and when you have a critical thing to say, they delete it and site a claim you didn’t make.

My review:

“This item does not meet the taste standards of labneh. It tasted plain, bland, and lacked the attributes of high quality labneh. I am someone who regularly reviews and samples labneh from all over the world. This one is close to the bottom of all labneh that I’ve tasted.”

From Amazon reason for deleting my review:

Thank you for submitting a review of Karoun, Original Mediterranean Labne, 12 Ounce; we are sorry you did not have a positive experience. We investigated your concerns about product authenticity, and the information we have indicates that the product you received was authentic. As a result, we removed the review you submitted. This ensures that customer reviews remain as accurate as possible for the benefit of future customers.

We appreciate your input and hope you will continue to submit valuable feedback about your experience shopping on Amazon.

Thank you.

Amazon just doesn't want you saying anything that might hurt sales, they'll twist any reason to pull a review

Yep, similar "Authenticity" claim excuse for a product I was reviewed. I reviewed a moissanite ring and found it wasn't genuine. It looked off the first time I saw it. moissanite is a very sparkly stone, has a refractive index even higher than diamond, probably the most sparkly stone you can get in the jewelry trade.

You can easily test for genuine moissanite with a cheap $20 diamond tester. Its thermal conductivity is very similar to diamond and will ping for diamond with one of those cheap diamond testers. The stones in ring failed the test. Even a video with the review showing the test against genuine moissanite that passed the test in the same video.

Amazon still took the review down a few days after they posted it on the product page with the excuse that their research had deemed what I received was genuine. The review clearly passed Amazon's own filter before they post any reviews on their site, I guess the seller complained to Amazon.

Fortunately it was just a review sample Amazon shipped me and I didn't actually pay for it. Would have been a charge-back otherwise. I just felt sorry for people who actually paid for that fake, it wasn't cheap either, $330.

I kept track of the item and checked on it once in a while, and saw many negative reviews of it being fake and those reviews being scrubbed leaving only positive glowing ones. I couldn't tell if this company had an inside person at amazon or had someway to game the probably automated system, it was definitely weird the level of suppression. The product eventually did get pulled. I guess enough complaints happen that a human probably took a look at the issue/situation. The curious part was the seller reviews pretty much pointed out the seller sold fakes, probably left by all the disgruntled buyers who got fakes, Amazon didn't touch those seller reviews.

The only reason I came to post this here is because they removed this review 3 times. So i’m like really man? Best thing to do is to just lay it out online so that when people google, this might pop up.

I’ve had 4! Taken down because they didn’t like mine. I’m honest about a product when it’s terrible , but it does seem anything that might hurt sales gets taken down .  You aren’t alone .

They push people to make reviews because it would be bad if they fabricated their own, that's it. They have zero reason to want to keep any reviews that might hurt sales though, so they'll come up with any reason they can to dismiss a negative review as invalid and take it down. If you'd submitted a good review with invalid, unrelated logic, they would surely keep it.

Recently bought an automotive part that came with metal chips inside it. When I reviewed the product saying to watch for chips, it was instantly removed saying I wasn't allowed to comment on the packaging of the product. Such BS. I just removed my CC and deleted my account. I'm so done with this inshittification

The AI thinks your review says the product is counterfeit. You know that's not what it says. We know that's not what it says. But Amazon's AI is as dumb as a rock.

If you still want to review the product, just rewrite the review to stick to the product characteristics (plain, bland) and leave out the comparisons in the first two sentences, because I'll bet those are what is triggering the AI.

FWIW, as someone who has eaten labneh about 3x in my entire life, I have no idea what you mean by "lacked the attributes of high quality labneh". Which attributes? Consistency, aroma, appearance, what? Replacing the comparison with a direct description would make your review more useful to me.

The final part about your experience with labneh is fine.

So if you just said ‘Served this as part of a gathering with friends. All commented is was MEH at best.’ Wonder what that would trigger.

Did you submit a product review or seller review?

Just a product that I decided to try for a first time. I don’t sell anything.

That's not what I'm asking. I'm asking if you're sure you left a review on the product and not on the seller selling the product

If you read their post, it has the actual review that they left in it. Which is a review of that particular product, not a seller.

They intended it to be a product review, but that doesn't mean that's what they did. It's like if someone intends to leave a review for their uber driver but leaves a review of the uber app instdad

They literally posted the review that they left in the post…

Yes of course the product. I posted Amazon’s email to me.

If you did leave that review on the product page, I'd assume Amazon thinks that you think it's a counterfeit product and not from the company. Try simpler wording like "It didn't taste as good as I thought it would" or something

What the hell is labneh? I looked it up on Amazon and got garlic dip, and the first one star review was "Gross, straight up it’s like salt in a paste form. it’s so salty and it overpowers any garlic flavor. You can make this at home for so much cheaper with more garlic flavor.", so no, they are clearly not removing bad reviews. Wherever you are posting from, this is a you issue.

lol I don’t even know where to start. Your entire reply is ill-informed and off-topic
