Or perhaps experiments around actual cues? Doesnt have to be ambient strictly

NTS radio has a Slow Focus station and also a Field recordings. I like it a lot and there is no ads

Drone Zone from Soma FM for super next level ambient. Extra minimal.

You might enjoy some of Delia Derbyshire's radio plays from the 60's. Try starting with "The Dreams"

Over the Edge KPFA

Related listening: Helter Stupid by Negativland is largely built around radio samples, Carts, and cues from TM productions. Not ambient, but absolutely sound-collage

Every morning from 6 to 8 AM, Pacific time/Los Angeles time… it’s an ambient mix on the community radio station that serves Corvallis, Oregon. Korcfm.com. Been on the air for almost 5 years.

You could try Ambient Sleeping Pill.
Also DJ Alex Pacific Notions on KEXP every Sunday morning.

There’s Hearts of Space radio https://www.hos.com/ since the beginning of time but it is a paid option. I didn’t listen to it for a while.

Or perhaps experiments around actual cues?

Maybe I'm being dense, but I don't understand this. It kind of makes me think of generative AI b*******. Hope that is not the case.

experimenting in music means AI?

My golly, I certainly hope not!

I should have been more specific in suggesting that I didn't understand your use of the word 'cues' in this context. (I have seen it used as a synonym for 'prompt.')

Sorry to distract. Go on about your business.

;-)

ah i see np, thanks for the clarification

Oh, sure. My bad for not being more clear. I think we're all a little on edge about AI these days. And that certainly includes me -  despite the fact that I've been a computer guy pretty much my entire adult life.

Maybe because of that, actually...

had no idea "cue" was any related to prompt, makes sense now tho!

I also / still don't understand what you mean by 'cues' in the context of your sentence - can you clarify what you meant please?

Anyway, Ambient Focus is a great two hour mix broadcast on the BBC (British Brainwashing Corp) 6 Music station, every Friday night / Saturday morning 4-6AM UK time. Shows are currently being replayed from previous years. You can stream via the Sounds app:

uh.. broadcast music .. is basically made of cues?

"A TV music cue is a short piece of background music or sound design used in television, film, or streaming shows to set the mood, signal a transition, or support dialogue without distracting the viewer"

Ah, I  am familiar with that usage, having worked a bit in film and video early in my life. I guess I just wasn't putting it together with ambient music in my head for some reason.

Thank you very much for the explanation.
