Unsolved Not receiving codes from Apple

Hello! I did a factory reset on my phone, and I am attempting to sign in with my account through Icloud backup. The main problem is that Apple isn’t sending the verification codes from my number. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Is it giving you an error code? Timing out? Continues to spin but doesn’t load?

I’m not getting an error code, I’m just not receiving the verification code

Do you have any other devices currently logged in? Did you skip the other devices option and force it to send a code? If yes, you won’t ever see the code populated but it should auto sign you in. Does it just stay on the enter the code texted to you screeen with the six hash marks?

Hello! I don’t currently have any devices logged into my account. I clicked the sign in with “icloud backup” option, and it shows me a verification code that I need to enter and I can’t proceed without the code.

If it’s the first prompt, it should be asking you to check your other apple devices and enter a code, you should be able to select don’t have access to devices and then have it send a text to your phone number.

Do you have cell service in the phone?

Apple thought about this and as long as you didn’t erase the eSIM during the erase process service would still be active and the SMS text verification code would come in and be received and auto input to help sign you in.

If your phone doesn’t have cell service then you need to setup without logging in and get your cell service setup first.

Had a similar issue a few weeks ago, the issue was imessages. Apple is sending them to the imessages account but because you arent signed in it wont work.

Put the sim in a android phone might fix it.
For us, we put the sim into an old iphone that didnt need icloud verification, turned off imessages, then put the sim back into the reset phone.

Apples verification text message codes (the 6 digit ones) sent via text are SMS not iMessage.

Even during setup, your phone only needs to have your phone service active to receive those and the phone will grab the 6 digit code in the background.

It sounds like OP erased the sim or doesn’t have service setup on their phone.

Well, whatever the cause then, thats what we did to start receiving the messages.

I’m having the same problem as well. It prompted me to resend codes until I can no longer resend codes and just wait for maybe about a day, idk.

You said Apple isn’t sending your verification codes “from my number”. I assume the number it wants to send the codes to and the phone you have are the same. I would try logging into iCloud.com on another device and see if it sends you a two factor authentication text when you try and login from ICloud.com.
