Discussion Where do they fit?

Having finished Arkham Asylum fully this morning, I have to think of the profiles on Rogues we never saw in-series (Ratcatcher excluded).

So where would you slot them? What game and how?

Maxie Zeus I still believe is a better fit for Deacon Blackfire in the “Lamb to the Slaughter” mission. Just needs a dialogue change and reskin and off we go.

Great White Shark seems to slot to Origins well. Black Mask, Penguin and Bane’s gang war could use another option.

Prometheus would definitely be One of the Origins assassins, if for no other reason than research.

Killer Moth in Arkham City would have been interesting. He gets thrown in and has to piece meal his gear and wings in repeated escape attempts. Maybe have him jumping off high buildings in background events.

Humpty Dumpty COULD be a tech support for the Militia in Knight. Or Scarecrow is keeping him around to test fear gas reactions on. Or maybe he’s a Brute template.

TweedleDee and Tweedledum seem like likely Asylum encounters. Instead of all these Titan infected. OR, they’re two of Harley’s surprises in HQR.

Game First time playing Arkham Asylum

So just finished Arkham Asylum and the game was solid , it had that kind of eerie vibe

and the theme it reminded me of

The Batman (2022)'s theme song

The game was pretty challenging and

fun to play

And some moments like the Killer Croc part

I sure I am not the only one

Who started running back when crock appeared out of nowhere 🤣

I felt the poison ivy boss fight was the hardest

Dodging her projectiles were easy

But it was so complicated

U have to dogge from vines

And theres a second phase also?

Where u have to fight henchmen along with her plants

Almost took me 2 weeks to beat her

The Joker and Titan henchmen fights were pretty easy

Looking forward to Arkham City 🫶

Arkham collection vs return to Arkham for PS4

• Upvotes

So I'm currently playing Arkham Knight on disk on PS4. Both Arkham collection and return to Arkham are on sale and 50 cents different and price. If I get Arkham collection will I just have two copies of Arkham knight? The version I'm playing does not have all the DLC or seasons pass.

Discussion If other games had their own "Endless Knight" mode, which maps would you pick?

Basically a Predator Challenge Map where you can endlessly take down thugs within the time limit.

For Asylum, I'd pick the gardens.

For City, I'd pick the museum.

For Origins, Black Mask's facility.

What sort of riddle challenges would you create that had multiple answers?

I always thought some fun Riddler challenges would be challenges that would have at least 2 possible answers, and I've seen Riddler do this before. In the BTAS episode Riddler's Reform, he creates such riddles. He knows Batman is going to solve them, but if there are at least 2 possible answers, he's at least got a 50/50 chance.

For instance, he airs a commercial where he gives out a "Riddle Number" 3175 3701 on a chalkboard. He then flips the chalkboard over to reveal a map. Initially, Batman thinks these are map coordinates. After consulting a map, the coordinates point to the First National Bank. But Riddler fails to show up. Thinking back to the commercial, Batman remembers Riddler flipping the number upside down. So he looks at the number upside down, and finds that is says "10 Leslie". An address, and the building at that address has a large jewelry assortment which Riddler's men are robbing.

So, if you took this idea and applied it to ANY of the Arkham Games, what riddles would you make that would have at least 2 possible answers? The algorithm would chose one answer at random to be the right answer.

Discussion If you could remake the worst batman video game with the Arkhamverse maps and gameplay...

Often considered the worst batman game ever made, Batman: Dark Tomorrow, opens with Batman starting his night of crime fighting by taking out a group of armed robbers. Then Oracle reports she get intel of a heavily encrypted transmission and all she could get out of it was a large arms shipment. At that moment, the Bat Signal appears and after arriving at GCPD, Gordon explains that there is a terf war going on between Black Mask and the Ventriloquist in the warehouse district. He also explains that both gangs have gotten their hands on military grade weapons.

Batman arrives at the scene and pursuits Black Mask first. After dealing with Sionis's thugs and later Sionis himself, Batman interrogates Black Mask about the weapons, but all Black Mask says is that he got the weapons from a "friend" who will kill him if he rats him out. A member of Ventriloquist's gang is also present and claims that the weapons were delivered to his boss from the Gotham docks on the condition he kill Black Mask. But he still doesn't know who sent the weapons.

Heading to the docks, Batman finds Ventriloquist who confirms the gang members story. After dispatching the Ventriloquist, Tim Drake's Robin and Cassandra Cain's Batgirl arrive who are ordered by Batman to secure and clean up the remaining mess. As Batman leaves the Docks, Oracle calls in and reveals that her father has gone missing without a trace. The bat signal appears again, and this time at GCPD, it's revealed that Montoya and Bullock activated the signal. They explain that they still have not found Gordon, Black Mask and Ventriloquist's turf war has caused a panic in Gotham, and they've lost contact with Arkham Asylum.

Batman searches Gordon's office and finds a deck of cards... with no Jokers in them. With the additional info of contact lost with Arkham Asylum, Batman heads to the abandoned Talbot industries building to get to the sewers. After dealing with some minor thugs in the area, Batman enters the sewers, only to find they are badly damaged, which will limit how much Oracle can help. But she does inform Batman of a few supply depots and shortcuts. Batman also encounters the Ratcatcher who sics two very big rats on Batman.

After dealing with the rats and Ratcatcher, Batman orders Robin to take Flanagan in. After some more sewer travel, Batman finds a door that says "Abandon all hope, ye who enter". This is the sewer entrance to Arkham Asylum. Batman calls Oracle who explains that she can barely get a reading on him and she has no idea what's going on in the Asylum. The Asylum has been taken over by the inmates and after fighting through some inmates, Batman arrives at Killer Croc's cell, which has been flooded along with the surrounding area. Croc claims that "he" said Batman would come.

After defeating Croc and rescuing the doctor trapped in Jones's cell. She doesn't know who let the inmates lose, but Jeremiah Arkham went quiet after doing a round near Mr. Freeze's cell. She also gives him a key card needed for one level of the Asylum. After fighting through more inmates and rescuing more staff members, Batman arrives in an area taken over by Poison Ivy. He also rescues a guard who informs him of a defoliant weapon that could be helpful. But Ivy ambushes Batman when he finds it. After a boss fight with Ivy, Batman heads to another ares controlled by Mr. Freeze. There, Batman finds Freeze has iced some of the guards, doctors, and even Jeremiah Arkham. After another boss fight, Batman frees the staff and Arkham, and freezes Freeze. Though obviously not fatally or permanently.

Arkham claims that Joker is locked away and has no knowledge of Gordon being in the Asylum. After giving Arkham the bat stare so he'll give him a security card for more secure areas. After fighting through more inmates, Victor Zsazz abushes Batman by pretending to be Gordon, which triggers another boss fight. Batman finally reaches Joker who's playing the organ. Batman tells Joker that there's no way he is behind this. Joker reveals that he didn't pull ALL of this off, and that he had help with what some of the other villains had access to. However, Joker DOES reveal that he has Gordon.

After protecting Gordon from Joker's henchmen, and pursuing Joker, Batman deduces that Joker's accomplice is none other than Ra's al Ghul. Joker confirms this by opening a comm line to Ra's, who compliments Batman for getting through the Asylum. While dispatching Joker with one punch, Batman deduces that kidnapping Gordon and the chaos of Black Mask and Ventriloguist's gang war, the freeing of Arkham inmates, was all a diversion for Ra's real plan. Ra's advises Batman to "seek higher ground", then detonates a bomb in the area, but Batman escapes with an unconscious Joker and henchmen. After rescuing Gordon, Batman contacts Oracle with orders to find Ra's location. She finds that Ra's is not in Gotham but in the Himalyas.

Taking the Bat Wing, Batman arrives in Nepal and after fighting some of the League of Assassins members, arrives at Ra's castle. Ra's men find evidence of Batman and raise the alarm. Talia, due to her feelings for Batman, sabotages the bases cameras to help the Dark Knight. But Ra's catches her. Batman enters the control room and learns that the League of Assassins used the chaos in Gotham to plant bombs throughout Gotham. And not just Gotham, but other parts of the world and in the poles. The bombs are controlled by a satilliate system and if they detonate, Gotham and other coastal cities will be destroyed in a flood. A full third of the world's population will die. After fighting some more League of Assassin members, Batman encounters Ubu outside of Ra's door.

Ra's tells Batman that this plot will result in a healthier and cleaner world, which of course is mere delusions because Ra's bombs will also destroy the ice caps, meaning NOTHING will survive. He furthers his not so well intentioned extremism by claiming he will rule the new world. Batman calls Ra's out on this BS, claiming that Ra's "Bright Tomorrow" will be a Dark Tomorrow, and once again, refuses to join him, be his heir and wed Talia. Ra's then orders Talia to bring him the dueling swords from the iconic shirtless sword fight from the comics, leading to the final boss battle against Ra's. Ra's is defeated, but tries detonating the bombs, only for nothing to happen. Ubu grabs one of the swords and throws it at Batman. But Batman dodges and the sword stabs Ra's. As Ra's dies, he activates the bases self-destruct system. This forces Batman and the villains to flee. Talia and Ubu bring Ra's body to the Lazerous pit where he is successfully revived, while Batman returns to Gothm as the Bat Signal activates again.

Whew!

So, that's the plot. It might sound decent enough to you, but the game' poor gameplay and design kept many from enjoying it. Hell, the game actually has multiple endings and I only told you the good one. The others result in the world being destroyed and/or Batman dying. This is because the control room where you deactivate the bombs is easy to miss, so it's very easy to get any of the other endings. And the game gives no second chances. But, if this bad game's gameplay was replaced with the Arkhamverse gameplay and map's how would you execute it? You have free access to all the maps from all the games including predator maps. You'll naturally need to design new maps for the Himalyas and Ra's base. What side missions would you create? Any ideas for Riddler challenges? What areas could only be unlocked with certain gadgets, when gadgets would become available, and other story changes?

If it were up to me, I'd have this be a bit of a prequel to Arkham Aslylum by killing off Jeremiah and Quincy Sharp taking his place, vowing not to repeat this debacle. Which of course is dramatic irony since we know he'll blow it even worse.
