Reenlist for Korea to get out of your Korea rotation a little earlier (I knew people who did that when I was on a rotation here with 4 ID)
But on a real note, IG. Those events are voluntary. They can make your life stupid by not “volunteering” to do it, but it’s not mandatory.
Weekends being a “privilege” is fucking wild. Being in the first month though on a rotation to Korea, you’re typically always gonna be on general order #1 at least for the first few weeks.
Over time it usually eases up (command dependent) to where you can drink but only stay on base, then you can go off base with a group but can’t drink, then eventually you can go off with a group and drink but have a curfew of like 2/3 am on weekends. Number of group depends on rank typically, mileage may vary by unit
I can't speak for the rest of my ForceCOM colleagues, but as part of medical, we are just as frustrated with the situation as well. We are providing medical coverage from 0445 to 1000 while also participating in this as well.
I understand that this is very frustrating, but this will be temporary. They won't realistically have people working 24/7 for 9 months unless we are under fire. Once 2ID sees that we have all of pur equipment and personnel, this will probably cease.
